It's shocking that the majority (77%) of dog bites occur at the hands of a known dog owner, either a relative or close friend.

That's right; these aren't some crazed, stray, violent dogs; they're OUR DOGS!

This is a tragic number, but it also means that WE have the power to alter the situation.

Bites are not random occurrences, and your children's behavior around the dogs they love and live with can have a significant impact on their safety. Misunderstandings occur all too frequently. Dogs are expected to understand human preferences, but we often have no idea how to interpret their own.
