Catching is not a great term for having your horse willingly stand while you approach them to halter--in a paddock, stall or field.
Food might work on occasion, over time your horse must learn to look to you for cues.
In a field you may have to remind other horses to keep their distance. Best to school in a large paddock or arena first.

Sudden weather change (from cool rain to hot) has seemed to spark more cases of colic. Add water and a little salt to lunch buckets. hand walk often, turn out more, but keep the grazing to short stints. (grass is getting richer fast).
