BREAKING: Police on Tuesday identified two of the three victims of Monday night's mass shooting at Michigan State University's campus as students Brian Fraser of Grosse Pointe and Alexandria Verner of Clawson. And family members on Tuesday identified the third student victim as Arielle Anderson of Harper Woods.

Anderson, 19 and sophomore at MSU, was a bright, inspiring, and a humble young lady, said April Davis, her maternal grandmother, from her Eastpointe home where a small portion of Anderson’s large family g*thered. She aspired to become a pediatric doctor. “She’s kind, loving, caring, compassionate, driven,” and "very family oriented,” Davis said.

Verner was a junior who graduated from Clawson High School in 2020, that district said in a statement. Fraser was a sophomore at MSU and graduated from Grosse Pointe South High, according to police and his page. "Alex was and is incredibly loved by everyone," Superintendent Billy Shellenbarger said in a letter to Clawson Public School families. "She was a tremendous student, athlete, leader and exemplified kindness every day of her life!"

Brian Fraser’s family was still processing the sudden loss. Micaela Fraser, Brian Fraser’s sister, told the Free Press on Tuesday that their family isn’t ready to speak, but she doesn’t want her brother’s name forgotten. He was a light in their lives, she said. She asked a Free Press reporter whether the reporter had a sibling. The reporter said yes, an older brother. "Tell him you love him,” she said.

We waited so long for Charly’s Litter #2 to be bred for and born. It ended up being only one female puppy and she unfortunately did not make it. She looked just like baby Biggins. 😞

Charly was in Stage 1 labor for a couple of days and she had been seen by 4 vets and Laura spoke to 6 vets to confirm the puppy was not too big for her to pass and that the fetal heart rate was at a safe number. Charly’s body did need to be able to turn on specific hormones to tell her when to push and how hard and with it only being one puppy, those hormones unfortunately didn’t turn on strong enough at the right time and we lost the puppy during birth due to the placenta detaching much sooner than Charly’s body got the cues to push.

Charly is doing ok currently and is home getting extra cuddles and love. We love Charly more than probably some love their own human family members so to be able to still bring her home after all of the heartache from loosing the puppy is a blessing. If you wait too long during a difficult delivery you risk the chance of loosing your bitch as well. Thankfully we have a 24 hour ER Vet in Kalamazoo and apparently at 2am when your beloved pregnant in labor bitch is in trouble you can get there from South Haven in 25 minutes flat vs 50-60 min. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

This is the part of animal breeding all animal lovers hate and dread. Whether it’s a dog/puppy, horse/foal, cat/kitten, etc. If the breeder is an animal lover, it hurts. And it hurts bad. It makes you second guess every single decision and every single piece of advice every single veterinarian provided to you.
It makes you second guess why you breed in the first place. But the joy you find in your animals and baby animals, especially when watching life come into this world and then watching them grow up to be amazing creatures surpasses any and all “forks in the road.”

We send our sincerest apologies to all of our families on our waiting list who have waited a very long time for one of Charly’s puppies and hope that you’re not disappointed in us or our program.
A lot of times with breeding the situations are out of our control and in the hands of a higher power.

Thank you to all of the families who believe in our program, past, present or future GOLAA puppy families. And thank you to those friends and family members who have supported us during this devastating & heartbreaking time.

It was nighttime in Moultrie, Georgia, but still daylight when I was hit in a 2020 Toyota Tundra riding down the road. The guy turned right in front of me and the four dogs I had riding along in their GUNNER kennels.
