*_About this Page_*
This page was created by and is run by volunteers of the DCAC. The purpose of this page is to promote and network the animals of the Downriver Central Animal Control's shelter. We hope to assist with reuniting lost pets with their rightful owners and with finding loving, responsible, and permanent homes for those whose owners never came. This page is volunteer-run and all questions for animal control should be directed towards shelter staff by calling 734-246-1328. As volunteers, we try our best to ensure that all animals at the intake facility are viewable online on Facebook. However, due to the large number of animals coming into the facility daily, it's not possible to put every single one online. Therefore, if you are missing your pet, you are encouraged to come into the facility to see if it is there. If you wish to adopt, please have a look at our page or Wyandotte Adoption Center's (WAC) webpage (www.wacshelter.com). Then submit an application online through WAC’s webpage! The DCAC's animal shelter is a collaborative effort among Allen Park, Southgate, Riverview, and Wyandotte. Wyandotte’s animal shelter serves as the adoption center. All adoptions and rescue pulls are handled by Wyandotte's facility. The Southgate facility serves as the intake facility and holds animals until space is made available at Wyandotte's adoption center. Often the majority of animals at the intake facility are available for adoption, but the adoption facility is full and they cannot be transferred until space becomes available. Therefore, be sure to look on this page for a listing of the animals that are available for adoption and on Wyandotte's webpage (www.wacshelter.com). You may put in an adoption application for an animal that is currently being housed at the Southgate facility by visiting www.wacshelter.com. You may also visit the animal that you are interested in adopting at the Southgate facility during office hours. Please keep in mind that space is limited at both facilities, so be sure to help network the animals seen here by sharing! COMMENTING POLICY:
