Still Looking for RESCUE/SANCTUARY/HOSPICE

Pouncer is male, 61 pounds. Originally entered shelter 11/2015 by owner who was moving. We adopted out 12/2015. Pouncer came back to us as a stray 3/2023. Pouncer is 9 years old. Our veterinarian is recommending rescue/hospice because of a head tilt and KCS (chronic dry eye).

At the shelter we have tested him in dog play groups and he doesn’t have play style. He is more of an observer, he is described as tolerant and social.

He also came back to us heartworm positive and has recently completed his treatment.

Please contact Rhonda at 864-583-4805 ext. 103 for more information.

Big THANK YOU going out to The Hounds Of Peaceful Place Foundation Senior Hound Rescue & Sanctuary for caring for sweet Lucille for her last six months. Sadly Lucille crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. We are so grateful to know she was loved and spoiled before her journey home.

These sweet babies have been at SHS over a year each.

Labels can often times be misleading. Many “no-kill” shelters place restrictions on the animals they take in (no pit bulls, no seniors, no newborns, no heartworm positive dogs, no bite history etc.).

We do not discriminate upon intake for any reason: breed, age, size, temperament. Our shelter is full and we currently operate on a waiting list for large dogs.

We DO NOT euthanize for space. We will keep an animal as long as it takes to find their perfect fit. We have animals stay with us as short as five days, and some as long as over three years.

If you would like to meet one of our long-time residents please come in during our adoption hours Monday through Saturday 12:00 to 6:00. No appointment is needed.
