This is a tough one but I think it's important to share the reality of breeding animals . TW animal death.
Eloise died unexpectedly. Our vet said she had complications from her pregnancy, with improperly developed babies. They became stuck and infected.

It's not something that happens often during a gravid cycle, but it can and does happen. Emergency treatment can sometimes work , but in Eloise's case it did not.

We miss her terribly. Wishing all of you and yours the best.

Check the colors on these 2023 babies !! Ready to ship to new homes. These are plains garter snakes , all albino and 50% het black and white axanthic. They're eating great on frozen thawed pinkies and we've had lots of time to tame them down. Perfect for beginner snake owners or someone that wants a beautiful and chunky baby to adore.

We do have both males and females - females tend to get quite a bit bigger as adults but the males are keeping up for now. 🐍 🩷

A male avalanche produced here. Avalanches are a rare double visual of two recessive traits - albino and black and white axanthic. They retain that classic radix pattern but are totally white. Breeder candy and very cool for fellow reptile nerds interested in rare snakes.

Eloise (thamnophis radix, garter snake) and her boyfriends, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Stringbean enjoying the new closure we built for them, showcased in our most recent insta reel!

When Eloise had her surprise second clutch, we had to essentially demolish the old enclosure, where we had painted and xps foam as the background, which would work well for larger snake/reptile species, but we have come to realize that it is not great for smaller snake species like garters, as they could easily burrow behind it and possibly get stuck or injured.

Eloise, her royal thiccness - - is THICC no more!

This morning there were 28 babies in her big beautiful bioactive enclosure. Behind the walls, in the plants, wedged in the logs... 🙈

This litter is barely 100 days after her last one. With a pregnancy time on average of 90 days, she didn't wait long. She looks healthy and was happy to eat a half dozen fuzzies to celebrate. 🎉
