Many years ago, Talisman T learned some jumping. Here's his first time on a grid with a student driver.

He later got good enough that he won Pacific Slope Champion Novice Jumpers.

This is the third time T has been in a lesson to learn about jumping.

CJA Brandie Rose (Khalahari Wind x Moonlight Joy by Kimfa). 1998 mare bred by Crown Jewel Arabians (my family). She's officially 26 now, which is older than most of her close ancestors achieved. She is retired from breeding and I haven't ridden her in a couple years, but there is a lot of history in that mare.

She's the dam of Talisman T++ so all but one of my horses is descended from her.

She and Shawn the Wonder Horse used to be obsessed with each other even though I had to watch them playing to keep them from getting too rough. Definitely a mare of opinions at times.

She wears a blanket in the winter (when she doesn't shred it) to keep warm but is doing fine out in pasture with her descendants. She willingly shares food with her granddaughters and loves the shelters.

She was named by my sister after a specific rose bush that we both liked (Brandy Rose). My sister officially owned her dam, Moonlight Joy (Kimfa x Moonlight Hope by *Silver Moonlight) who she got from Lacey's Arabians. She was the result of breeding a Kimfa daughter to a Kimfa grandson, making her one of the highest percentage Kimfa blood. (Kimfa was an important Arabian stallion before 1980.) She was a paternal granddaughter of Kalimba (Kimfa x Beylenta by Bay El Bey). Kalimba was one of my family's best mares and is represented in all of my herd.

Brandie's sire was bay. Her dam was grey. I've always thought it was fitting that she ended up chestnut like Kimfa.

I hope she continues to do well in her old age.
