It's sad seeing all the big bucks at the processor with sliced throats!
I believe the Minnesota regime has no clue what they are doing as usual ! For example how are deer gonna gather at some hunters boot to catch CWD off sent! It's ridiculous!
Don't allow the regime to ruin your trophys!

Seems I've ran into some trouble with this
SLIPPING as its called when the hide looses its hair.. when this happens its ruined. It was taken care of as far as caping was done . But even being careful they need to be frozen....immediately is preferred!!! Its not fun calling to say your capes bad.. I know on my end they get processed as soon as they are thawed . And kept in a ice cold fridge between the turning and fleshing beam process then under a coat of fresh salt all within a couple hours or so. So if you get a good one handle it with care and get it to a taxidermist. We will buy the cape or a discount a mount. Thanks
Ps don't cut the neck ! That was only needed before refrigerator machines lol ;-)

Salt process, and shaving a tanned hide, before and after , shaving is dangerous I barely nipped my thumb.

People if you shoot a deer and want it mounted. Please handle your trophy properly!
#1 Don't drag with out a sled for protection!
#2 cape properly asap, don't hang upside down to age the meat, it skin pools with blood! Blood destroys the cape by introducing bacteria.
#3 roll the cape from bottem up so the face is out, or in most cases freezing immediately is key.
I've been handle other taxidermist things and it's not fun seeing such things that come damaged . Like this bloodshot cape, lips damaged before our work even starts.. then I have to explain what was going on. We all get plenty of meat animals but your trophys don't wander everywhere. Stamp handle with care on it as soon as you retrieve it! The best taxidermist are well over 700$ nowadays. And tannerys are closing down, shipping is a fortune. Make the best of it ! Good luck this season!

Well it was a long winter the new shop never warmed up enough to do much work, electrical shorts, electric bill over 800$ ,
I'm glad to be back in the shop next week . And will be getting everyone's stuff done , birds are fleshed, fish are fleshed. Stuff I had to do in the house. I do apologize for the delays.

Scale tipping is the way to go ! Now I have to figure out a way to mount it so it can go in a nice fishhouse that will be bouncing on lakes! Fish mounts are among the most delicate mounts taxidermist do, fragile as eggs!
What y'all think of this one?

This is a deer my dad had mounted near by, for like 375$ what a joke. It was the buck he called snaggle horns. He was so happy he got his "target" buck and he kept sayin the guy used a doe cape, but the rope burn tells me it's the proper cape. Unbelievable bad
