We had a good morning working some released quail on the farm. Hard flying birds and hard working dogs! The young dogs are really doing well. I am hoping the Woodcock flights hit Ohio before the season ends.

Breezy girl with her first wild bird points and retrieve! This pup has come a long way. She may have had a delayed start, but she is really coming along.

Remi’s first trip up North was a success. The light bulb is on for sure! She is tearing through the covers and had some awesome retrieves this weekend.

Very fortunate to be able to walk out my back door a few hundred yards and spend a beautiful Fall evening with Huck. Pretty hard to beat an early season wood duck hunt with a Ryman Setter beside you.

Grouse hunting will test your dogs and your shooting like nothing else. Add in a drought, unseasonably high temps, and covers even thicker than normal and the value of each bird harvested increases. We are headed back up North in two weeks. I don’t think a day will pass without me thinking of the birds, dogs, and the coverts.

Another great day up north. Found plenty of birds. The dogs worked hard. We will be back to stay at North Rivers Lodge in a few weeks.

Huck x Brook puppy updates are coming in. Reports are all positive and pups look great. Hopefully by late season they get some wild bird contacts. We plan to repeat this breeding next spring.

Our friends from Southern Ohio have a nice litter of pups on the ground. The mother (Trudy) is Huck’s mother. Sire (Champ) is Remi’s father. Great lines, great dogs and good people at Oak Point English Setters

Puppy reports are coming in and all seem to be doing well! Most importantly they are being spoiled…as it should be. We are already excited for our next litter.
