VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

Sunnyvale Animal Shelter has been invited to attend an adoption event August 31 and September 1 at the Mesquite Convention Center Gun Show. We need volunteers from 9:30-4:00 on Saturday and 10:00-4:00 on Sunday. Duties will include setup crates, walk and care for dogs, and assist visitors in meeting dogs and cats. High school students can earn community service hours. Please let us know if you are able to help.

We will join Sunnyvale Animal Shelter at PetSmart Mesquite today, 12:00-3:00. There will be plenty of kittens and cats available for adoption. Come by and visit!

Great adoption event at the Mesquite Convention Center gun show. Five of our puppies were adopted with several referrals to the shelter to visit the cats. Thank you to our volunteers Avery, Abby, Olivia, Gracelyn, Grayum, Kathy, and Natalie. They worked hard working with the puppies on leash training and showcasing to visitors.

Spent the morning helping our friends at our local Sunnyvale Animal Shelter. 🐕
Bathed a handful of their dogs to get them cleaned up and ready for adoption!!
Clay is an absolute sweetheart but those puppies may need a second bath!! 🙊

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

Sunnyvale Animal Shelter has been invited to attend an adoption event July 20&21 at the Mesquite Convention Center Gun Show. We need volunteers from 9:00-3:30 both days. Duties will include unloading/loading crates, setup crates and tables, walk and care for dogs, assist visitors in meeting dogs. Currently we have no volunteers for Sunday. Please let us know if you are able to help.

This may help in understanding the frustration of “canine cough”. If your dog exhibits coughing symptoms (usually a deep hacking) please monitor and discuss with your vet. Usual treatment is antibiotics and cough suppressant. Honey can be given to help soothe their throat. Where this gets serious is when it MAY progress to sinus infection or pneumonia.

Jupiter and Ranger have been adopted. Ender and his shelter friends are still awaiting homes. Please share so we can find homes for these wonderful pups. If you are able to foster, food and monthly preventative will be provided.

Here are some of our featured animals that need a new home:

- Ender is a 2-year-old male Dutch Shepherd mix. Young at heart, he is a bundle of energy. He loves exploring new places, sniffing out interesting scents, and learning new tricks. Ender is not one to shy away from a challenge and his curiosity knows no bounds.

- Jupiter is a 1-year-old male Poodle mix. He is just a young pup, full of life and curiosity. He loves exploring new surroundings and sniffing out exciting adventures. Jupiter’s got energy to spare, always ready for a game of fetch or a long walk. But don't worry, he is super friendly and is always eager to make friends!

- Ranger is a 10-month-old male German Shephard. Ranger is a puppy with a heart full of love and a mind bursting with curiosity. He is a bit shy but once he gets to know you, he is the friendliest pup you'll ever meet. He is independent and smart and is always eager to learn new commands. Just remember, Ranger is as energetic as it gets!

UPDATE: we received plenty of fitted sheets, thank you!

Crib, twin or full size fitted sheets (used are fine)
Kong brand toys for large and XL dogs
Nylabone nondestructive chew bones for large and XL dogs.

Items may be delivered to the shelter at 371 Long Creek or a member of FAST can pick up. Thank you

UPDATE: Phoenix has been adopted by his foster family!

Phoenix meeting his new foster mom and sister. There is a strong possibility this will be his permanent home. Thank you again for supporting this boy through his surgery and healing so he can have a happy, full life. Thank you to Sunnyvale Animal Shelter for saving him off the streets and Hannah’s Southern Paws Rescue.

It’s PetSmart Charities National Pet Adoption Week. We will be at the Mesquite PetSmart Saturday and Sunday with several of the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter dogs. We will also have a photo area set up for anyone wanting pictures of their pets. Please come by and visit.

PetSmart adoption event Saturday, March 9. Zuko (boxer mix), Captain Cook (schnauzer/terrier mix), and Rocket Raccoon (Husky/shepherd mix) were there meeting and greeting.

THANK YOU to all our wonderful donors! Anubis, now named Phoenix by his foster mom, had a successful FHO surgery to repair his hip. He will be in medical foster care for the next 6-8 weeks and then will be available for adoption. We are so grateful for everyone’s support in order to provide this sweet boy a bright future.

🚑EMERGENCY DONATIONS NEEDED FOR PUPPY AT SUNNYVALE SHELTER🚨

Meet Anubis! This sweet 5 month old puppy is currently at the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter and is in need of an FHO Surgery(femoral head osteotomy) ASAP. Not only has he suffered through tremendous injuries, his medical imaging shows that he has a gut full of trash😫 The incredible staff at the shelter are doing all they can to keep Anubis as comfortable as possible, but this surgery is his best chance at living a normal and healthy life! Unfortunately this expense is beyond the shelters ability to cover, so Friends of Animals of Sunnyvale Texas is looking to raise at least $2-3k to cover his FHO Surgery and follow up care. Please consider making a donation of any amount to help Anubis get the surgery he needs.
