SAS and Sylacauga ACO Doug Nixon kindly ask the public NOT to feed feral dogs in Drew Court. Residents there have requested help trapping dogs; which is harder to achieve if they’re not hungry. Thank you!

Our local rescue group is having another $30 Voucher Sale on Sep 7! Please contact them with any questions!
We have a date for our next $30 Voucher Sale! We jus received our grant check from the Talladega County Commissioners! A Big Thanks to them for their support to reduce unwanted animals! We will have around 150 and maybe more vouchers to sell on Saturday September 7 at Petsense Sylacauga in Alabama from 9-12 pm or we sell out! These are available only to Talladega & Coosa County residents.

🐈⬛ the line forms earlier than 9:00
🐈⬛ we will sell till we run out or 12:00 noon. Whichever comes first
🐈⬛ limit of 5 per household
🐈⬛ these are good ONLY at Alabama Spay/Neuter in Irondale.
These vouchers cost us way more than what you’re purchasing them for. DO NOT LOSE THEM! We won’t replace them. USE THEM or else it’s our hard earned money down the drain. We will not swap vouchers for you later down the road so make sure you know the s*x of your pet!
You must call the number on the voucher to make your appointment. You can take them over there yourself or they can ride the bus from Home Depot Sylacauga for an $8 transport fee.
Please do not call the shelter or Petsense about the vouchers. These have nothing to do with them. Because it draws such a large crowd we have to hold it at a large location and Petsense is gracious enough to allow us to do it there. Do not call them and tie up their phone lines! The shelter has nothing to do with vouchers or making appointments. Please do not bother them.

Understandably, dogs aren’t living their best lives in the shelter. When you see them in their kennels, they may come across too energetic, crazy or withdrawn. But don’t judge them by this first impression! Many are completely different dogs when they’re outside. Pluto is a perfect example. In his kennel, he’s a pogo stick of a dog, but when he’s out, he walks well on a leash, loves cuddles, and enjoys the water (on his feet at least). This sweet boy’s adoption fee has been paid, so he is free to a good home. He is 2-3 years old and would prefer to be the only dog. Meet Russel! This cutie patootie is about four months old and needs a home. He’s about 25 lbs but will probably stay medium-sized when full grow . He’s very shy and was not doing well in the shelter environment. He’s in a temp foster home now but needs a forever home! He could really thrive with another dog in the house to teach him how to be social. If you’re interested in meeting him, please contact the shelter!

Dog of the week is Heidi! This Collie mix has been waiting at our shelter since November of last year! She was a puppy when came in and is now 8 mths old! Just another puppy growing up here! She loves people, other dogs and loves the water! Please share Heidi and help find her a home!
