The newest chicks…I counted 9 before some of them ran back under mom.
We’re still having adventures here at Goat Haute, the most recent being broody hens who have hatched chicks. This mother hen is fiercely protective of her babies, so they roam with her along with the rest of the flock. Another hen has brand new chicks that she hasn’t brought out of hiding yet.
Elinor, the casual partaker of hay.
Newly disbudded Lori and an upset chicken.
Goat moms and kids....and that ornery Andy trying to open the gate!
Here’s Poppy with her buck and doe kids, just born.
Phoebe and Elinor are not quite 48 hours old, but they are already happy, hoppy, and hungry!
Well Arlo, you old dog...
Here's Freya with new kids, Phoebe and Elinor.
We’re here until 4 today!

January 1, back to work...
These seven chicks are amazing foragers, thanks to their mom. They love hopping up on fallen branches, too.
These seven chicks are wandering out on these nice days! Mother Hen stays close by.
I’ll have some Halloween soaps this year, in Fall Spice and Lingonberry Spice scents!
Mama and babies, exploring and growing.
One of the chicks is burrowing under the mom to warm up for a bit. The other three are already under there!
