Bridle....less😁 really sharpened up positions 🥰
When I think about communicating with our horses at the purest form, I think about liberty. It's the ultimate sign of connection; it's a full and complete understanding of each other.
When you're working at liberty, your horse is invited to participate, not forced. It's a dance -- a dance where the footwork is made of trust and respect. It gives a foundation that you can build off of and it shows where any existing foundation is weak.

IEA members and those interested in our new IEA Huntseat Show Team- Our team application is complete for grades 4-8, so the next step is to visit https://www.rideiea.org/forms/membership/ ASAP and get your membership in so we can complete the new team registration process so we can plan for which horse shows we will attend this year :)

Practices are Mondays from 6pm-7:30pm

(we can still have a grades 9-12 team, but will need at least 3 high school riders to commit and form this team)

Want more information? Check out our new IEA page on the Lane of Dreams website, or send us a message today. We recommend new show riders join before Oct. 1st (fees increase after that), and new social members can join at anytime during the season.

The Lane of Dreams Farm Academy Show Series offers a place for riders of all levels to compete on lesson horses or on their own horses. Summer horse camps are a wrap! What a fun summer, the time flew by as we enjoyed sharing the farm and horses with our summer campers. 🥰 want to ride in the fall? Send us a message for options for group, family, and private riding on our herd of 11 school horses

08/06/2024

Summer Camp is cancelled today. I am so sorry, we now have a tornado watch up until 3pm. We cancel activities at farm for extreme weather such as this for safety as we have no basement. The current plan is to have camp as normal Wed, and offer Thursday 9:30am-2pm as a makeup camp day. Campers, Let us know if Thursday is ok with your schedule.

I am sorry for this sudden change, it was unexpected.

Attention English hunt seat (and/or possibly dressage) riders- Lane of Dreams is considering hosting an IEA - Interscholastic Equestrian Association show team this fall/winter. IEA is open to riders in grades 4-12. IEA also has an adult pilot program if there are interested adults looking to dust off their show clothes! Please message us if you have interest, and we will have an informative meeting at the farm if enough riders show interest. To form a futures team we will need at least 3 riders from grades 4-8 (age 9 and up), and/or to form a high school team we will need at least 3 riders from grade 9-12. Let us know if you have any questions :)

Undoubtedly, one of the most important jobs at any IEA show is the job of the “Horse Holder”.

Often handled by student riders, Horse Holders are responsible for making sure each IEA horse or pony is ready to go in the paddock area for their next class. They are responsible for keeping the horse safe, properly tacked up, comfortable, calm, clean and hydrated. They are to remain standing while keeping a safe distance from other horses and/or people as much as possible and to remain alert to what is happening around them and what is happening in the arena.

This is a BIG responsibility, especially for young equestrians, as often the show days are long, hot, cold, dusty, and tiring. And your feet hurt. Every IEA rider who has gone through our program (and there have been thousands) has had this responsibility at one time or another. Sometimes at every show they attend. Horse Holders and their ability to expertly manage and organize their duties can make or break the flow of the horse show. As important as any show official, these volunteers are quietly supporting their sport, their team and the animals in their care.

It is in these quiet moments of standing and waiting….that the magic happens.
The connection.
The shared eye contact.
The overwhelming love for a horse.

Aren’t we lucky. ♥️

We could not be more proud of these 4 young ladies that competed at the fair this week! They showed every day & took great care of their horses! They won and lost graciously.🏆They learned to manage their emotions, time, equipment & horses thru the ups/downs of a busy fair week. Most impressive of all was the relationship they built with River🐴George🐴Jack🐴 & Macy🐴 since May 1st. The horses tried their hearts out and trusted the girls to show them what they needed to do. It wasn't always easy, but these young women & their moms supported each other & cheered each other on to their own personal victories.🥰 👏 Well done Seneca Dreamers🍀💕
