The New Year is just a few days away! Here are our top pet safety tips so you can welcome in 2024 as safely as pawsible:

-Keep all pets indoors
-Make sure pets have an ID and are chipped
-Keep human food and alcohol away from your pet, and relay to any guests of this as well
-Keep your pet in a cozy area with music or a TV on. These sounds help to drown out any party noises and/or fireworks.

Spread positive New Year vibes by sharing this post! 🎉

Did you know that most pets see muted colors?

While dogs can’t see the same array of colors that humans can, they can discern between yellow and blue (making them red-green color blind).

When choosing your pet’s holiday gift this year, maybe opt for a yellow or blue toy! 🔵

Our pets’ physical exams provide a lot of information on heart, lung, eye, and ear health, but what about what’s going on inside?

Performed at least once a year, blood work panels help us assess your pet’s overall health. Diagnostic labs give us an inside look at how your pet’s liver and kidneys are functioning and help track any changes in their health.

Matting 🚫

Extreme matting can be very uncomfortable and start to affect your pets health if not taken care of properly. Matting can cause build up of f***l matter and urine on the hind end and the pet being unable to clean it can cause pain, discomfort, infection, etc.

This kitty was not the happiest of patients but after some brief sedation he was able to feel much more comfortable and able to clean himself again.

Happy Halloween! 🎃🕷️🕸️

Here are some safety tips to keep in mind during tonight’s adventures & activities:
1. Please don’t feed your pets any candy (many candies can be very toxic for our pets.. if they do happen to digest any candy, please call your nearest emergency vet to discuss any possible dangers)
2. When out trick-or-treating, please make sure your animals are wearing proper identification and safety lights in case of cars or if they get away!
3. Keep lit candles, jack-o-lanterns, costumes and other Halloween decorations out of your pets reach.
4. If your pet is wearing a costume this halloween, make sure it is not too tight around any part of their body, especially their neck and make sure that it has an easy release in the case of them getting caught on something.

Have fun trick-or-treating and be safe this Halloween! 👻
