Our office will be implementing new charting software in the 2nd week of July to better serve you and your pets. Keep an eye out for news of exciting new features which will provide greater access for clients and medical staff through the nationwide Thrive network. Our staff will be provided with extensive training to ensure that we maintain efficiency for you and your pet continue to receive the best care possible after the transition. Office hours will be adjusted on the following dates to provide the time needed for this additional training.

Please everyone join us in welcoming our newest doctor to the Young's family, Dr. Elizabeth Serrano!

Dr. Serrano was inspired to pursue her career in veterinary medicine as a member of Future Farmers of America showing pigs in her hometown of Cedar Park, Texas.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas where she worked on several animal research projects with horses, cattle and pigs. She earned her veterinary degree on the beautiful island of St. Kitts at Ross University and finalized her training at LSU.

Dr. Serrano loves to travel and even studied abroad in Australia during the summer of 2018. She researched animal habitat, behavior and animal/human interactions while working with equine, bovine, koala, kangaroo, olive pythons, cane toads, sand crabs and more!

Her love for nature and adventure keeps her busy outdoors. She unwinds by the beach and enjoys fishing, diving, snorkeling or anything to do with the ocean.

We are so excited to have you join the team!

Its that time again! The Young's Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest!! Vote on which one you love the most!!

Last week we celebrated Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week! In honor of this week our technicians & doctors held the 2023 Vet Tech Olympics. This is a little insight on what took place! Thank you Technicians for all of your hard work and love you provide for your patients!!

Dr. Ron is a Florida transplant originally from Southwest Michigan. He completed his undergrad degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame where he was active in the marching band and a runner up for the Leprechaun mascot. He is a USAF active-duty veteran who served briefly as a student pilot before transitioning to military acquisitions where he continues to serve as a reservist. While on active duty he earned his MBA from Oklahoma State University before separating to pursue his lifelong dream of attending veterinary school at the University of Florida where he developed a fondness for emergency medicine and urgent care. In his free time, Dr. Ron enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two fur babies (Marceline and Jake) as well as hiking/running, working on DIY projects, flying, and enjoying all there is to do along Florida’s coast!

Our Story

In 1961 Dr. William Glenn Young opened the doors to Young’s Indian River Animal Hospital and began serving the Titusville and Brevard County communities. He then sold the practice to Dr. Paul Berger in 1997, who had joined the practice earlier that decade as an associate veterinarian and then became a practice partner in the mid-1990s. In January of 2005, Dr. Camille Young (no relation to Dr. WG Young) purchased the practice after herself joining as an associate, and shortened the name to Young’s Animal Hospital. The practice continued to grow and expanded to our present location on Cheney Highway under her leadership. In July 2014, Dr. Young sold the practice to Vision Vet Group (VVG), a veterinarian-owned business with practices in Indiana and Kentucky. Over the years, a lot has changed in the field of veterinary medicine. What has never changed through the decades is the commitment Young’s has to our community. We strive to serve our clients by offering the highest quality, compassionate medicine for their pets. It is also very important to us to be involved in and support our community through our various outreach programs. Throughout any changes in the upcoming decades, we look forward to continuing to serve our community and hope to see you and your pets soon!
