Golden Re-Triever Rescue Inc GRRI-NJ is fully volunteer staffed.
(20)

GRRI-NJ was incorporated to find permanent loving homes for homeless Golden Retrievers in need throughout New Jersey, Westchester & Rockland counties in NY

Hours by Appointment Only How we each participate within GRRI-NJ depends on many factors ... what each of us enjoys doing ... what special skills each of us brings ... and our respective lifestyles and schedules ... all of which vary widely. W

e're mothers and fathers with babies and young kids and teenagers and grown children ... we're teachers and accountants and doctors and lawyers and veterinary assistants and computer professionals and marketing executives and secretaries and business operators ... we're breeders and trainers and competitors ... but most of all, we're pet owners who are hooked on Goldens and who feel compelled to help those of them in need. It's that personal commitment to help Goldens in need that has drawn each of us to GRRI-NJ, and it's the reward of helping, in an atmosphere of camaraderie and support, that sustains us in the rescue work we do.

Congratulations and best wishes to the Moye family on their adoption of Buddy! As you can tell from the pictures, Buddy is living his best life with the Moyes! Gary loves to train dogs and Buddy is like a sponge, learning so much in just the few short weeks he's been with the family. Gary tells us that Buddy was meant for him and the whole family is so thrilled to have been chosen to be Buddy's forever home!

We wish them a happy life together, filled with wonderful adventures!

Buddy is a gorgeous 4-1/2 year old male who was surrendered when his family could no longer take care of him. He came into rescue a little rough around the edges but is such a great boy now and gets better each and every day. He knows and follows commands — sit, down, stay, and leave it. He is such a smart boy who loves to learn. Buddy’s favorite activity is to play fetch!! He loves his people — big and small. In his previous home, he was not socialized much and didn’t really know how to interact with other dogs. Buddy is currently in a foster home with five other dogs and is working with socialization. He is doing well. Buddy is a loving boy who would do best with a family who had the time to continue working with him on training and socialization. He will make a wonderful addition to one lucky family. If you’re interested in adopting Buddy, please fill out an application on our website www.grrinj.org.

Congratulations to Eric Smidt, Nava Anav and their family on their recent adoption of Zoey. Zoey came into rescue in May of this year when her owner had to surrender her due to personal circumstances. Zoey, who is almost 9 years old, spent a few months with her foster mom and Golden siblings and then the perfect family came along and adopted her!

We wish them a long and wonderful life together!

Pictured below is Zoey with her "brother" Logan.

Congratulations to the Tallone family on their recent adoption of Deaglan!

Deaglan came into rescue this summer at the age of 9 after his owner passed away. The Tallones agreed to foster Deaglan but it wasn't long before they realized that he had found his forever home with them!

We are so happy for all of them and wish them a wonderful life together!

Penny is an eight month old (DOB 11/09/21) pup. She is a sweet girl with a nice disposition. She is learning to live with other dogs and loves to run and play. A home for Penny should therefore have older kid, as Penny can run smaller ones over easily. Penny loves to lean against you and waits to be petted. She can be stubborn and ignore you when being called, but she will finally come. She is crate trained and housebroken. She loves to go for walks and has to sniff out everything, so one has to be patient. She is not too crazy about getting a bath, but loves to be towel dried afterwards. Penny can get a bit sensitive about having her nails trimmed and the fur on her toes cut. She can be shy when meeting new people, but will warm up quickly and accept strangers. Penny tries very hard to learn the rules and has a lot of potential. Penny has a very sensitive stomach and needs to have a certain food regimen applied. She needs to stay on that protocol, otherwise she will end up with stomach problems and lose stool. She can not have anything different than what she eats, as it will give her problems right away. The family that adopts her has to be willing to follow these guidelines.

If you are interested in adopting Penny, please visit our website at www.grrinj.org and fill out an adoption application.
