As the heat of the summer persists, here is some valuable information for all of you lovely pup parents: Shaving your double coated dogs down does NOT make them cooler! 🌡🔥

Double coated breeds have thicker fur for a reason and that coat actually helps cool them down, protect themselves from the heat, and from a really bad sun burn, not to mention....shaving them ruins their coat to the point where it will either grow back irregular and splotchy or not at all. 🌞🐕

I get it, it's hot in the summer, but I promise you that their coats are doing more good for them than bad! Instead of shaving....

1. Keep walks limited to early morning or late evening (remember if the ground is too hot for you barefoot, it's too hot for your pups)! 🌇

2. For midday heat, try and keep your pups inside as much as possible (unless you are engaging in water/pool/ice water/sprinkler play) and keep potty breaks to a supervised 10-15 minutes. 🐕

3. Avoid leaving your pups outside all day in the heat (remember a dog house in the sun is NOT shelter, it's an oven)! 🔥

4. And lastly, keep your pooch hydrated with plenty of shade and supervision! If your pup's water bowl is outside, try and keep the bowl in the shade and check the temperature of the water often! 🏡

Good afternoon, my Pups N Bubbles family! I wanted to update my list of groomer recommendations to better accommodate everyone!

I've been getting lots of messages from clients who are in need of a one on one groomer recommendation vs a typical groomer who accepts multiple pets at one time! I understand your concern and know that some pups actually are better on their own vs with the stress of other dogs being around.

So for clients with pups who require a one on one groomer due to dog aggression, dog reactivity, anxiety, destructive behaviors, not doing so well in a Kennel, etc I have been highly recommending to consider mobile dog grooming since they typically are one on one. 🥰💕 Unfortunately there are no mobile groomers on base nor do they have access to come on base, but after further research and calling around, there is a mobile groomer off base who services the Fairfield/Vacaville area who also has such great reviews! 🐶🐾

Welp, today's the day. 🥹😭 My last day of work here at Travis Air Force Base. Me moving and my business relocating is such a bittersweet experience, but Luna... I'm so happy that your face was the last face I got to see before we leave! 🥹🥰

Your goofy butt has grown so so much since you first started seeing me in 2021! 😱🎉 I still remember your first visit too....you were such a heavy puller that you almost took my arm out the socket not to mention you weren't too fawn on the grooming itself either. 🙃🫠 But you did go from yanking on the leash to walking nicely. From being resistant and wiggly during the groom to calm and accepting. And you went from dreading to be back here to happily walking in and getting the zoomies. 🥰😅🤗

I'm so very proud of you and your progress and mom, like I mentioned, I'm willing to help you find another one on one groomer for you for when I leave! I understand that due to Luna's dog aggression, one on one is the best bet for her! 🐶🐾 I don't want to leave you guys guessing, so feel free to reach out whenever! Anyhoo, you guys have become such great friends for me and I have loved working with miss Luna and seeing her prosper! 🥹🥰💕 I'm really going to miss you guys and thank you for being such generous and loving friends for me as well as loyal and respectful clients for my small business. Kosmooosss!! Long time no see! 😱🥹 For those that don't know, Kosmos is a Seizure Alert Dog and he's off duty again for another pampering.

Your pamper today included a nail trim, an ear clean, a teeth brushing, paw trim, de-shed, bath, and blow dry....so yes...this boy got the WORKS today (as he should). 😅😉 It took 3 hrs to get you all cleaned up and in the process you went from ragamuffin to dog show status real quick! 🙃💕

You've always been such a sweet and patient boy for me not to mention excellent for your grooms, so the 3 hrs flew by fast! 🥰😅 All in all it was all worth it because your coat's fluff & shine were revived and you left here such a happy go lucky boy. 🤗🎉 I'm really going to miss your goofy butt and I wish you and your family well! You've been seeing me since February of last year and have always been such an excellent boy for your grooms! 🥰🎉 Mom decided to start one on one grooming because you're such a very nervous boy who doesn't do too well in kennels. She mentioned that most groomers wouldn't work out because you would become very stressed in the kennel and turn to destuctive behaviors. 🙃🫠 So of course I am glad that mom reached out and I was able to work with you this past year and a half. 🥰💕

I don't have kennels and there are no other dogs present, so you really enjoyed being the center of attention and being by my side 24/7 during your grooms. 🥹🐶 Though you are still a pretty stiff and nervous boy, you never give me a hard time and believe it or not...that sad, pouty face actually does wag his tail quite a bit while he's here. 😅😎🤗 I'm so very glad that I was able to meet you, sweetheart, and I'm also glad that I was able to confirm that one on one grooming is the way to go for you. 🥰💅 I wish you and your family well and good luck on your search! 🐶🐾

Welcome back and farewell, my puppy friend! 😭💕

Oh Whiskey.... I'm so very proud of you it's crazy! 🥹💗 You first started seeing me this past February at the age of 7 months old....and boyyyy have you grown so much in these past 4 grooms! 😱🥳 For your first groom, you were not having any of it. You hated the nails, kept trying to jump out the bath, was terrified of the blow dryer, just....none of it was your friend that day. But despite your anxiety, I did go slow, stayed calm, and kept it at your pace. 🥰 And I guess that helped a ton, because your second groom came around and your behavior was literally night and day! 😱😱 You were happy to be back, 1000x calmer/relaxed, and sat handsomely and still for pretty much every single service with the exception of needing a little reassurance for the blow dry. 🤩🤩

From the second groom up until today (your fourth groom), you have little to no triggers, love bath time, enjoy the blow dry, the nail trim is easy breezy, and the ears, teeth, and paws are able to be done flawlessly! 🤗🐾 You have beyond impressed me especially with your age....and I have no worries for the next groomer that gets to inherit you! 🥹💕 You're like....so happy and calm now during grooms which is especially important for your breed because aussies are required to see the groomer OFTEN and remain on a schedule to make sure their coats stay shiny, floofy, and tangle free. 😎🐶 Keep up the amazing work mom and dad, his coat always looks prestine coming in and you have been great with keeping him on a groom schedule! Keep on desensitizing him and maintaining that regular groom schedule and he will definitely continue to prosper! 🥳💗 Whiskey, it was so great getting to see you grow literally and figuritively and I wish you and your family well! Enjoy your 1st birthday in 2 months! 🥳🎉

Liz & Phil are inseperable littermates and have been seeing me since 2021! Just when I thought I wouldn't be able to see them again, mom booked them back in for one last pawdicure! 🐾💅

Phil was definitely the cry baby of the two (😅) because he knew mom and sister were waiting in the car, but for the services as a whole, I had zero issues like usual! Though you were vocal, you're still such an excellent boy for your pampers, so great job today, bud, and I hope you're walking a bit better! 😉🥰

Liz on the other hand is a bit more quiet than Phil and has always been known to have the thicker, longer, and more grinchy toes compared to her brother as well. But I'm not complaining because it's always sooooo satisfying doing her paws not to mention she was also an excellent girl for me for her pawdicure! 🥰🤩

All in all I'm going to miss you two and I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day yesterday! It was so great getting to work with you for the past year and a half and I wish you and your family well! 😇🥰

You came in today for your usual Premium Pamper Package and of course you were excited to be back! 🥰🥹 You had the wiggle b***y and the charming smile all prepared for me the second you arrived! 😅🐶 You're such the sweetest boy, I swear, and I love how you love getting your picture taken! 😅🤳🏾 I'm serious....all i have to do is position him and he stays there off leash and flashing his smile! 😍🥰

Anyhoo, you've always been such an excellent boy with grooming and quite frankly....I think you actually enjoy it. 😅🎉 You got your paw pads shaved out, your toes scissored and cleaned up, annndddd you got all squeaky clean in the bath! 🧼🫧 And when you were finished I was in love with how your coat turned out! Welcome back, sweet girl, and farewell!

Twas a rainy morning this morning, so sadly all pictures had to be indoors for the most part. 😬🫠 But oh my goodness Haillleeyyyyy! 🥹😭 You're another one of my OG clients who have been with me since I first opened and I'm really really going to miss that smile and those soft awoos that you love doing! 😭❤️

It's been about 8 weeks since I last saw you, so your coat was definitely in need of a deshed! 😱🙌🏾 I used the undercoat rake to really get that undercoat out while also getting those ears cleaned, pawsies shaved out, and toenails clipped down. 🥰🐾 For nail trims in the past, you would rely heavily on reassurance and getting it done together, but surprisingly today you were more relaxed and open to getting them done with very minimal reassurance! 😱🎉 Like whaa?? Excellent job today girly! In the end, you got to leave here feeling soft, floofy in the b***y, and with a pep in your step! 🥰🥳 Whichever groomer inherits you will be a lucky one without a doubt! I'm going to miss you and I wish you and your family well! 🥹💗

You're usually a WILD child and take a bit to calm down that hyperactive energy (and not because of the nail trim itself). 😅🤣 You're amazing for the nail trim, but since you looovveeee people, you're usually hyperactive and overly excited when you get here. 🫠🙌🏾 Today, on the other hand, you were only super excited initially, but once we got our hellos out of the way and went over to get started, you mellowed out almost immediately. 😱😍 Usually you carry that excited "hello hello hello" energy over to the nail trim, but wow what a change! 🥹❤️ Even when we were finished you did not rev back up!
