BITS, BITTING, TACK, and TRAINING DEVICES
What are they, how do they work, how are they fair to the horse? When, where, and why do we use training tools and what tools hurt more then help. Snaffles, and gags, and curbs oh my! *we will touch on legal bits for each discipline so highly recommended for show people*

Great time to get colts started for the spring riding season, show horses tuned up, get the dust out of your trail horses bones, or get those babies ready for the real world!

Ride em like their broke mentality! Good horses start with a great foundation. Lots of prep and ground work. I focus on creating comfortable, willing, forward partners from the beginning. 60 days required in most situations

⚡️finishing⚡️
Got a good broke horse that just needs that one thing finished? Lead changes, cleaning up knees over jumps, spins, cleaner neck reining, some tricks like lay down and bow and fist bump,etc! Doesn’t matter if it’s a first time in sliders or studs we can finish out and perfect your horses movements!

⚡️show prep⚡️
Fitting for halter (stock and society),finishing on horsemanship or showmanship patterns, top line development, conditioning for overnight or weekend or longer shows. Manes pulled, tails put up, clipping. Anything to give you the winning edge!

⚡️cattle work⚡️
New to StoneHaven! Young horses can learn to push and box cows, turn and track them. Have a rope thrown off them, head, heel, or breakaway.

Happy Wednesday! We wanted to give you a Grounds Committee Update! Spring is right around the corner & the PRC Volunteers will be hard at work. We will post general clean-up events as we have them set. The Clubhouse will also be de-winterized soon for upcoming meetings & other Spring Events.

We realized we can't have GREAT shows without GREAT ground and that includes both arenas! A couple things to note:
🟢 Water holes in the Speed Arena will be addressed.
🟢 Hard pan/depth will be managed in both
🟢 Arenas will be watered properly as needed.
🟢 Reveal 4 in 1 Drag will be fixed properly
🟢 Tractor serviced & ready to go

These are just a few items that the Board & Grounds Committee has in the works. As soon as the weather breaks we will get to work! 💪

He kind of hangs out in the back ground, but the oldest member of the LPH herd is Cheif. Cheif is a 32 year old Missouri Fox Trotter. Despite his age and arthritis he is completely sound for light riding and is the boss in the pasture💜

🟣Offering lease through show options or training on your own horse we want YOU to join us! Whether your a first time participant or a seasoned show goer looking for a family type environment to get ready and have fun in we want to have you!

🟣English, western, Gaited, over fences, and saddleseat have all been shown successfully at the YCHS. There’s a class for everyone!

One of the hardest parts of my job is letting go of the horses who take my breath away. Lexi was one of the first horses I started, trained, and sold. One I would have kept no questions asked. But at the end of the day I do what I do for smiles like these 🥺🥺🥺
