Tomorrow is the solar eclipse. Your pets don't normally look at the sun so eye protection should not be necessary. Be aware that your dog or cat could get spooked by solar eclipse-inspired events that involve crowds of people, whether you take a pet with you to a viewing spot or it's near your home. There will be a lot of activities related to this event and it will be kind of like the 4th of July. There will be people shooting off fireworks, noise, crowds and strangers. Just as you do on the 4th, please make sure your pets are safe, under careful watch and leashed if out and about.

We all know not to leave our furbabies in a hot car in the summer, but do you think about the hot pavement?
Always check the temperature of the pavement before taking your dog out for a walk.
If it's too hot for your feet, then it's too hot for theirs!
