This adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua mix is available for adoption at our Union facility. While Rico might be a little shy at first, he’s as sweet as can be once he warms up to you. He’s looking for a loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished.

Update: Dog was picked up by owner!

**Found Dog Alert**

This sweet boy was found wandering the streets of Maplewood, NJ, near the intersection of Boyden & Elmwood. A Good Samaritan stopped traffic and managed to get him to safety. He was brought to our Union, NJ facility, where we scanned his microchip. Unfortunately, no owner was registered.

He was wearing a harness and is incredibly sweet, though understandably a bit scared. If this is your dog, or if you recognize him, please contact our rescue at 908-688-2600.

🎉 Balto Has Found His Furever Home! 🎉

We are overjoyed to announce that Balto has found his perfect family! After being abandoned and brought to us in rough shape, it's heartwarming to see him now surrounded by love and happiness.

Meet Balto, a resilient 3-4 year old male Poodle mix looking for his forever home. About a month ago, this sweet boy was abandoned in a nearby parking lot, severely matted and in poor health. Thankfully, a good samaritan brought him to us, and we immediately took him in.

Balto received the medical care he desperately needed, including treatment for multiple infections, vaccinations, and a microchip. After a nice haircut and plenty of TLC, he’s now a happy, healthy pup ready to find his new family.

🎉 Echo Found His Forever Home! 🎉

We are thrilled to share that Echo has found his perfect forever family after two months at our facility! We were determined to find the ideal match for this special pup, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

Echo’s new family is just as overjoyed as we are, and they’ve already sent us updates and pictures showing how well he’s settling in. Echo is living like a king and enjoying every moment in his new home.

UPDATE. He is a Catahoula Leapard Breed and we are asking any rescue to pull
Him while he is on the 7 day legal hold.

He is a big friendly boy but very very anxious and we are afraid he will hurt himself. The kennel is too small for him and we feel he may hurt himself trying to escape. He had been crying non stop. If anyone a rescue please reach out to them to help.

Meet Charlie, a sweet 4 year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd. Charlie's family needs to rehome him ASAP because their daughter is allergic to him 😔

Charlie is an AMAZING family dog who is gentle with his current family's infant. He is their only dog and they don't have any cats, so his behavior towards other animals is unknown.

• Adoption applications can be found on our website at shakeapawrescue.org

• Schedule a meet-and-greet with the adoption dog you are interested in by contacting us at (908)-688-2600. You must visit our location to be considered for adoption. Online applications will not be considered.

• Once your application is submitted, please give us a few days to process your application. If you are approved, we will contact you to set up a pickup date. Please understand we receive many applications for each available dog. Submitting an application does not ensure approval for that dog.

• In order to find each dog a home as efficiently as possible, we do not offer deposits or holds on adoption dogs.
