I often get asked why do I work with dogs. To tell you the truth, it all started with my own dog Cocoa. As my dog started to age, I noticed some behavior problems he was exhibiting and wanted to help.
That was the moment I realized I wanted to help as many dogs as humanly possible. Starting off by doing extensive research about my own dog’s problems, I found ways I could improve his behavior on my own.
This led to my volunteer work at local shelters and learning as much as I can from professionals in the field. After, I took an animal science program at Orange-Ulster BOCES and the rest is history!
I began gaining local clientele and offering volunteer pet sitting. My client list built up over the years and I decided this is the life for me 🙂 I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

Happy 4th Birthday Nikko!!! 🎉🥳🐾
We had a little birthday party for sweet Nikko at the Woodbury Dog Park today, he had so much fun with his friends! Thank you to his mom for making delicious homemade cookies that everyone went insane over. This handsome boy is growing up way too fast!

Interested in a park visit? Jessica’s got you covered! We will pick up your dogs and take them to the local dog park for some play time (Woodbury Dog Park).

**All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered. We spend a couple of weeks acclimating them to all the regulars at the park**

Meet Pumpkin, he’s actually totally blind! He has our hearts ☺️
Pumpkin and his sibling Boots (who passed frim kidney failure three years ago) were rescued off a job site in Newburgh. Dehydrated and rejected by their mommy, they were scooped up and went immediately to his rescuer’s animal shelter, where they received the care they needed and later adopted by their rescuer. We believe Pumpkin was born this way but thrives in his home and knows no different ❤️

Here are some tips and signs your dog is happy!
Happy dogs typically have relaxed body postures, with ears in a neutral or slightly forward position, relaxed facial muscles, and a relaxed mouth (which can sometimes appear as a “smile”).
Dogs express happiness through playfulness, engaging in activities like play-bowing, chasing, and bringing toys to their owners.
Dogs often seek physical contact when they are happy, such as leaning into their owners, nudging them, or gently pawing at them for attention.
A healthy appetite and enthusiastic eating can indicate a happy dog, as appetite changes can be a sign of stress or illness.
Dogs are happiest when they feel safe and comfortable in their environment, with access to their favorite spots, toys, and familiar routines.
Dogs are social animals and are generally happiest when they have positive interactions with humans and other animals. They enjoy companionship and may seek attention from their owners.
Regular exercise and mental stimulation are important for a dog’s happiness. Activities like walks, interactive play, and training sessions can keep them engaged and fulfilled.

Meet Simba! One of my clients here at Jessica’s Pack Pet Sitting. He is a Samoyed and as you can see he loves spending his days soaking in the sun ☀️
Here are some facts about Samoyeds!
Samoyeds are known for their friendly and sociable temperament. They are affectionate, gentle, and often referred to as “smiling Sammies” due to their characteristic smile caused by the upturned corners of their mouths.
Samoyeds are named after the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia, who originally bred them for herding reindeer, pulling sleds, and keeping their owners warm in the harsh Arctic climate.
Samoyeds have a stunning white, fluffy double coat that helps them withstand cold temperatures. Their coat is dense and water-resistant, with a soft undercoat and a longer, harsher outer coat.
Despite their origins in cold climates, Samoyeds can adapt well to various environments, including warmer climates, as long as they have access to shade and plenty of fresh water. (As you can see by Simba here 🩷)

Here are some facts about cats:
1. Did you know cats were domesticated around 9,000 years ago? There were highly valued on ancient Egypt!
2. Cats can jump up to six times their body length in a single leap.
3. Contrary to popular belief, cats rely primarily on body language and scent markings to communicate with others. They only meow to talk to us ☺️
4. Indoor cats tend to live longer than outdoor cats! The average lifespan for an indoor cat is 12-15, but some even live into their 20s.
5. Cats can taste smells!! They possess something called a Jacobson’s organ, which allows them to better detect pheromones and other chemical signals.

If you’re ever wondering what an average day looks like for me 🤣 this is it! If you’re ever in the area, I highly suggest the Woodbury Dog Park. It’s a great opportunity for your fur babies to socialize and even make some human friends as well! Any breed or size welcome, we just ask that they are:
- Friendly and well-behaved
- Up to date on vaccinations
- Spayed or neutered
