Got an opportunity to Dog Sit 3 huskies and a kitty this week. I didn't realize how much I missed dog sitting. These sweet babies were such a joy. We had a blast!

Dear Mom and Dad,

Let me stay home. It's not nice for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. And feel my paws burn. I'm looking at you for a moment, but you do not understand.

Because in a little over 5 minutes we're at the cool puddle, right? But those little 5 minutes can be fatal to me. Because I sweat through my paws, and in this heat I just can not get rid of the sweat. My whole body is boiling, but I keep going .....

And then I end up on the tarmac. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes flashing in the sun. My paws are burning, my tongue is dry and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of ...

Instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. And best of all like in a cool area with grass and a pool.

We have about 20 of these small cat taxis loaned out from previous clinics. If anyone has one, can you please return it ASAP. Clinic is tomorrow and we need to loan them back out. Also if anyone has a cat that has outgrown their small one, we could sure use it. We try to buy them when we see them for $10 or less. We have actually bought a dozen or so in the last year. All missing at the moment.

We need fosters and adopters now!!! We are getting emails, calls, Facebook messages at least 30+ times a day from overcrowded shelters, people wanting to surrender, etc. This is a HUGE deal because when rescues are full, and if shelters can’t find help they have no other choice then to make the hard decisions. This is NOT a post to bash shelters. It’s a post to make everyone aware. We have NO open kennels and dogs are already in with others to make as much space as possible. Please consider fostering or adoption. We need to help more out there but can’t if we don’t have anyone to step up and help. Remember fostering isn’t a lifetime commitment it’s a commitment to save a life ❤️🐾
