Update: We will be closed all day for safety. Thank you for understanding!
Due to the dangerous weather this morning we have decided to postpone opening the clinic for the safety of our staff and clients. We will reevaluate the weather later this morning, and potentially open back up at 10 am if it is safe to do so. If you have an appointment this morning please feel free to get in contact to check on the status or reschedule. Since we are not in the clinic this morning fb will be the fastest way to communicate. Good Morning Van Meter!

It seems we are having some internet issues this morning. We are attempting to troubleshoot, and will hopefully have things fixed sometime today. We will continue to see appointments as normal today. If you have an appointment scheduled, and have the ability to pay with check or cash, that would be easiest! Hello Van Meter!
Due to work on the power lines we unfortunately have a scheduled power outage tomorrow. We will have no power in the clinic, so will not be able to answer phones. It will also be more difficult to fill prescriptions and take payments. The outage should be from 9am-1pm. We should have access to emails during that time. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

***ROAD CLOSURE***

Beginning on Friday, June 21st at 7:00 am, F90 (Raccoon River Drive) will be closed east of R22 (Ute Avenue) for a paving project managed by the City of West Des Moines. The road will reopen on Friday, August 30th at 5:00 pm depending on weather and other possible delays.

Sorry for the sad news, but Claire lost her battle with kidney disease yesterday. She was lethargic, not eating, and was very unsteady; it was time. Our sweet little funny faced girl had been treated for hyperthyroidism for multiple years. Within the past year, she was getting near daily subcutaneous fluids and other treatments. Although she tolerated them well, she was ready to dart away when done, but she’d soon return for snuggles, to lay in a lap or to find a sliver of sunshine peeking through a door or window. She will be missed.

We are all saddened with the passing of Dr. Chelsea Iennarella-Servantez on Sunday. She was a bright spot in our clinic on Thursdays. She was passionate and in depth with each patient she had the pleasure to meet. She was pursuing a PhD at ISU College of Veterinary Medicine, having earned her veterinary degree in 2023. Her focus of study was related to diet induced inflammation. Hold on to those you love.
