Hey y’all! I’ve been busy the past week and a half getting all caught up from the waterline break but if I’ve missed you in all the chaos, I’m so sorry! I haven’t even decorated for the holidays this year in my efforts to make up for the lost time that waterline break cost me. I do my best, but I know I’m only one person and there’s never enough of me to go around. Thank you all so much for your continued patience and support as I continue to do my best to give each dog the attention and comfort care they deserve during the grooming process. In case I don’t get a chance to say so later, I hope everyone has a great holiday season and happiest of Christmas’s this year!

Update! Looks like we have a successful repair, once I get confirmation from the water company in the morning that we’re good to go, I’ll be making my way through my messages and start getting everyone booked! Thank you again for your patience! 🙌💗🥰

Good news is we’ve got most of the water drained and found the leak. Bad news is I still gotta dig out more space to repair it and get the below surface level water that out that keeps seeping in. I’m working as hard as I can to get this fixed and get back to work making your dogs clean, cute, and comfortable in time for the holidays! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time!

Unfortunately we have a break in the waterline and I’m closed until we get the water flowing again, so far all this weekends have been canceled and I will make decisions about Monday as the day progresses tomorrow. Fingers crossed tomorrow we can get this drained the rest of the way, fixed, and get me back to grooming! 🙌

The Texas Department of State Health Services has notified the City of Midlothian Animal Services division on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 that a skunk taken from Walnut Grove Road has tested positive for rabies.

On October 27, 2023 Animal Control was called to a residence in the vicinity of Walnut Grove Rd and Arbor Grove Trail to respond to a deceased animal. It was reported that dogs killed a skunk. Animal Services staff sent the skunk off for rabies testing (to the State). The City of Midlothian was notified today that the skunk tested positive for rabies. The dogs that came in contact with the skunk are required to be isolated.

Once infected, rabies is a virus that has a 100 percent fatality rate when left untreated in mammals including humans. State Law requires all cats and dogs over 4 months of age to be current on rabies vaccinations.

Public health officials recommend the following precautions to protect everyone from exposure to rabies:
*Report any sick or strange acting wildlife.
*Vaccinate pets and livestock.
*Vaccinate livestock with frequent human contact.
*Do not feed wildlife or stray animals and discourage them from seeking food near your home.
*Do not feed strays.
*Do not approach an unknown animal, either wild or domestic.
*Report all animal bites and any contact with bats to Animal Services. Human rabies can be prevented with a series of shots.
*Keep garbage cans tightly covered and avoid storing food outside.
*Children should be instructed to tell an adult immediately if they were bitten or scratched by any animal.

For the past few weeks our senior dog has been on hospice care at home with us and we have spent as much time as we could caring for her and making her comfortable. After a rough weekend, this morning she crossed that Rainbow Bridge and is at peace now. Thank you for your patience these past few weeks as her care made me less available. I will be responding to this weekends messages ASAP.

Between the ear plugs, face masks, barking dogs, busy grooming and family schedule, and sketchy cell service- it’s not always easy for me to hear and talk on the phone. 🥴

Happy Tuesday y’all and I hope everyone had a peaceful 3 day weekend as we took time with our loved ones to honor and remember those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice for this country on our behalf.
I am back at work and will be working my way through the weekend messages. Thank you for your patience! Please remember texting and messaging is the best way to book with me. Between the questionable cell coverage, my kids needing my attention during off hours, and dogs needing my attention during work hours- I don’t get a chance to make phone calls very often but do so when I can. I also don’t always get my voicemails in a timely manner as sometimes they don’t appear until I take a trip into town. Country problems. 🤷‍♀️ Lol!
