🌟🧱Building Basics with Confidence🧱🌟
Fun morning with Big Joe working on some important early cross country questions! Though this horse would jump a house with his eyes closed, he was a bit worried about down banks, ditches, and cantering through water. Thankfully we could go down the road to our great friends at Clasing Equestrian for some practice! Longing is a GREAT way to help the youngsters figure out different questions! On the line , Big Joe can find his balance easily and make a mistake without any added weight in the saddle or ‘pressure’ from the leg. For the riders, it’s a safe option in case your horse takes off bucking, trips, or has any dramatic baby moment! After figuring out the different questions, it was time to hop on and reiterate what he learned on the line!
Quantum Leap Z - Loch Moy 5yr Old YEH
Such an awesome first outing for Big Joe (Quantum Leap Z) at the Maryland Horse Trials 5 Year Old Qualifier this morning!
Big Joe laid down a lovely test and was quite the professional from start to finish! Though there is always some room for improvement, I really could not be more thrilled with how he feels at home and in a show environment.
After losing this spring with the colic surgery and the brutal conditions so far this summer, we opted to just do the dressage for today. Big Joe feels very confident in each phase and has proven to be a very quick learner but still feels a few weeks out from tackling each phase with real confidence.
I like to use these early shows as ‘litmus tests’ to see where we are in our training and for the experience!
Always best to come away from the shows thinking “we could’ve done more” rather than “we should’ve done less” !
Lots to look forward to this year!

2023 in Review 🎉
Thank you to all of our friends and sponsors who made 2023 a year to remember🎉 🎆
The year was filled with many up and downs, new experiences, and great memories with friends both old and new!
Here’s to ringing in 2024 with new beginnings 🎊🥂
Such an amazing ride today on ‘Smooth Sailing’ Max in the YEH 5yr old Eventing Qualifier this morning at Lock Moy!
After a Nice and clean dressage test, Max tackled some sizable show jumps and stormed around xc like a walk through the park!
We finished the day with a 71.6, just shy of the 75 required to qualify but I truly could not have been prouder of him. After losing our spring and summer seasons due to an unfortunate field injury, tackling this course was no small task!
Though we will not be at the championships this fall, today was a perfect prep for Max’s Training level debut in two weeks! Huge thank you to everyone who has supported us from the start and to Erik Duvander and Clasing Equestrian for helping me bring out the best in Max in all phases!
What a great start to the fall season!

Busy day today with Freddie taking on his first day of cubbing 🦊 like an absolute pro and then back home to Max gearing up for CDCTA next weekend!
Needless to say Max is fired up and ready to roar around some cross country this fall!
What an incredible ride with Wheatland Farm’s Maya around today’s 1.35m $5,000 Welcome Stake!
Maya warmed up today ready for business and gave me by far our best ride to date. Very unlucky first rail down but she proceeded to click into gear and stayed with me every step of the way leaving all of the following fences off the ground!
While it’s easy to get hung up on the first fence down, it was her ridability over a big track that really made the week for me. I‘m so proud that all of our homework is finally coming together on course, especially one like today’s!
Thank you so much to G&T Equestrian for really helping Maya and I progress as a pair and for helping us gain confidence around the course and to everyone who has made this possible!

Wheatland Farm’s Maya with a solid start in the 1.30m today at Lexington to kickoff the week!
Mrs. Mare was all business in the warm up and roared around the course like a 👑! In the line towards home she was a bit keen and just got away from me causing an unlucky rail. Needless to say she finished with plenty left in the tank!
We are feeling great ahead of the 1.35m Welcome tomorrow! Thank you G&T Equestrian for the expert guidance and to everyone who makes this all possible!

Max (Smooth Sailing⛵️ ) was incredible this week in our clinic with Eric Duvander at Clasing Equestrian!
After a spring hiatus following a silly field injury, Max has returned in fighting form! Day one was all about perfecting the basics and helping to develop relaxation and straightness, which is tricky for a sharp and sensitive horse like Max! Today was all about putting those skills to the test over some very tricky questions. Max was truly amazing start to finish and is in great shape for a big fall season ahead!
Thank you to Clasing Equestrian for this amazing opportunity and for all of our sponsors and supporters who make it all happen!

Ride #15 and Freddie is already over fences!
Today was his first day over x-rails and he was his same old confident and clever self!

Big day for BetTheOver aka Freddie as he ventured out of the indoor for the first time!
One small step for man, one giant leap for Freddie!! Can’t wait to see this horse grow into his new job this summer ☀️ 🦊 🐎
Another day, aanother double clear!
Both Maya and Rapper returned this week to Loudoun Benefit Horse Show and kicked off the week on a stellar note!
Maya zipped around for another double clear and clear jump off in the 1.30m to land us in 3rd place!
Rapper also had a great day with two lovely rounds on the hunter side and finished 3rd in his hack class!
Very busy but very successful start to the week!
What a fantastic week at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show for Wheatland Farm’s entries “Maya” and “Regardez L’étoile”!
On Tuesday, Maya jumped like an absolute stag and laid down an impressive double clear in the 1.30m; continuing to jump clear in the jump off. Her stellar rounds landed her 15th out of a whopping 52 horses!
To round off our week of showing, Rapper put in a beautiful round in the Founder’s Cup on Wednesday evening. His lovely round earned him a 74, making the cut for the conformation phase! Rapper finished the class in 12th place out of 24 very competitive horses! Hard to believe he was a dressage horse just 6 months ago!
While Upperville is one of our favorite shows on the calendar, it is not one that can be pulled off without the immense support of all of our sponsors, staff, coaches, friends, family, and horses! I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to not only represent these two horses on such a large stage, but to have the opportunity to work with them each and every day. Thank you all for the support and for helping to make this week a great one!

Freddie ( #BetTheOver ) trottin’ like a champ for ride 6!
This horse is classy, clever, and confident! What more could you want in a four year old?!
Only 8 days off the track and BetTheOver (“Freddie”) is officially under saddle!
Today was about walking, halting, and “steering” until Freddie is used to carrying the new weight and has his shoes back on! Looking forward to a fun summer with this clever 4yr old!
Rapper felt like an absolute champ this morning popping around some bigger fences! 💪🏻💪🏻
In December he was a Fourth level dressage horse and today he skipped over the rocks at 3’9 with no problem!!
Huge shoutout to Triple Crown Feed for keeping Rapper fueled for the bigger jumps and to Majyk Equipe for not only protecting his legs on course but also helping Rapper feel his best afterwards with their gel ice boots! 🧊 👑
Wheatland Farm ‘s “Maya” was an absolute MACHINE around yesterdays $15k Welcome Stake! It was a maxed out 1.35m (4’5) track and quite a step up for the two of us.
Though we had a green fence or two, Maya remained confident and keen to go around from start to finish! While one unlucky rail kept us from the top placing , I could not have been happier with how she tried her heart out for me.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us each and every day, both at home and the shows!

Wheatland Farm’s “Maya” laid down the 🔨 today at Lexington Spring Encore kicking the week off to a great start!
Maya was keen to get around the course and skipped through a tough 1.30m track, leaving all sticks in their cups without breaking a sweat!
She is feeling like a million bucks and ready to tackle the $15,000 1.35m Welcome Stakes tomorrow!
Thank you to all of her owners and connections for the support and to @gt_equestrian for the help leading up to this event and putting it all into play in the ring.
Thank you to our wonderful sponsors who help us look and feel our very best!

What an awesome week at HITS Culpeper with Wheatland Farm ‘s “Maya” and “Regardez L’étoile” !
Rapper had a wonderful day on Wednesday in his debut as a show hunter! The fences were well dressed but proved not a problem! He is in great shape for Upperville in June!
Maya mare had quite an amazing week in the jumper ring! After her easy double clear and clear jump off in the 1.20m on Wednesday (video above), she arrived on Friday ready to rumble💪🏻 Maya then proceeded to 🌟 WIN 🌟 our $1,000 1.30m class with ease! She is feeling fresh and ready to go for Lexington in two short weeks!
Huge thank you to Peter Foley and G&T Equestrian for the coaching and guidance this week with both horses and to everyone who helped make this week possible!
Also huge thank you to my amazing sponsors for always making sure myself and our horses are ready to perform their very best!!

What an AWESOME morning with Max at Morven Park schooling day!
We arrived hoping to school a few novice fences but ended up spending most of the day schooling over some tricky Training Level questions!
Thanks to a great season in the hunt field, Max was bold, brave, and rideable from start to finish!
He is in GREAT shape for the 5yr old YEH qualifier this spring and the season ahead!!
Huge thank you to @majykequipe for keeping his legs cool and protected and to @triplecrownfeed for helping him feel his best!
