This sweet mama has been sitting on eggs in a nest she made in our woodshed. 3 little chicks joined our farm in the best way possible. I love it that this is a place that our animals can do as nature intended:)
This lady is a black copper maran that we hatched last season. She hasn’t been named yet, but definitely deserves a special one. Who wants to help me name her?
These guys got new digs! We keep them in crates where they can easily snuggle for the first few days, and then into the brooder. We thought we’d try this as a next step brooder this year. It’s easily take up and down and plenty of room for this larger batch of babies.
We will have a few of these available in the coming weeks. DM to get on the waiting list!
Next up: baby chicks! First chicken hatch of the year, and our first hatch from the new breeder stock we purchased last year. I’m excited to see these babies grow!
We will have few available next week, so stay tuned 💜
We want treats! We want them now!
If they could hold signs, this would be a legit protest 😂😂😂
We finally welcomed our first litter of bunnies! My rabbits have not been procreating quite as easily as the folklore says. 😂 But mama Moxie did great and is very happy for extra treats that being a mama brings. 7 healthy little nuggets, we didn’t lose any!
We’ve been working on this little girl so she’s people friendly. This is the first time she’s come to me willingly 😍
Kasper still needs some coaxing 💜
I love their curious nature.
What are we going to name these beauties?
The white one is a male and the multicolored is a female.
The female is super smart and curious. She doesn’t cry when mama walks away. She’s quite the little lady!
The male is very sweet but skittish (many rams are). He does not want to be further than a foot from mama, which is definitely ok:)
Don’t mind my baby voice with them, I can’t help myself! 😍😍😍
Now, on to the naming game!
Spring is such a beautiful time on the farm! These twins joined us this morning, earlier than I expected:) My amazing mama did so well all by herself again. This time, twins!
Stay tuned for updates and the What Should We Name Them game. 😍
We keep several “bathtubs” of water available for the ducks in the winter. This one is their current favorite. They wait in line for it even though there are other buckets. 😂😂😂
First babies of the year are popping!
Despite a power outage, these resilient little chicks are making their way into the world.
Fortunately they waited until the power was back on before making their entrances.
I can’t wait to see what color spectrum we get from these backyard birds 😍 🐓🎉
This is our farm music right now. Too many roosters from this years hatchings means all the boys showing how they can crow. 😂
It’s a farm reality that when you let nature take it’s course, you will end up with whatever nature provides 💜
This frolicky little lamb seems to like the name Luna. 💜
Spring is popping on the farm! The ducklings have arrived. 💜
