Chester County Velo and WCCX are pleased to announce the 7th Annual Brandywine Valley Roubaix (BVR). As with all previous WCCX events a portion of the proceeds will benefit two local charities. Quest Therapeutics (www.questtherapeutic.com) is an equestrian facility utilizing horse riding to provide therapy for children and adults with physical and developmental challenges. Our second charity is the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Mountain Bike Association (www.pamtb.org), a new, grass-roots organization developing high and middle school mountain bike programs in our immediate area. The BVR will be supported by Bike Line (www.bikeline.com) although riders are responsible for on-the-course mechanicals. A feed stop and facilities will be located at approximately mile marker 35, near the historic Whip Tavern (thewhiptavern.com). This event is a timed Gran Fondo and all riders must obey the rules of the road. We will provide several routing options for the ride with marketings / signage along the course, including:

Because of weather and logistical issues, we are postponing the Brandywine Valley Roubaix (BVR) until Sunday, May 19th. All pre-registrations will be automatically moved to the new event date.

The BVR has always been a socially focused event where riders can enjoy the beautiful countryside, an excellent rest stop at The Whip Tavern, and enjoy donuts on donut hill. Another highlight of the event is spending time with your friends and fellow riders after the ride at the pizza and beer party. None of these things would be enjoyable or practical during a raw and rainy day. For these reasons we have decided on behalf of all the riders, and event venue, and sponsors to postpone the BVR for 2 weeks until Sunday, May 19th.

Bikereg will be updated with the May 19th event date, and will remain open until May 18th at 5PM.

FOR ALL THOSE WHO PRE-REGISTERED FOR MAY 5th:

Fear not…all pre-registrations will be automatically moved to the 19th. If you are able to join us, GREAT, we’ll see you then, no need to respond. If you cannot attend on that date, you have 4 options:

1. We can provide you with a credit for the Fall BVR

2. We can donate your entry to our charity, Quest Therapeutics

3. We can transfer your entry to someone else

4. We can refund your registration

Just send us an email with what you’d like to do.

Because we need to do final planning for the event, the deadline for changing your registration is Sunday May 12th. After that all registrations will be final.

Thank you for your support of the Brandywine Valley Roubaix. May 19th is the final date for the event, so it will be held rain or shine. See you then!
