I have 8 boys looking to fly. There’s one photo for each one, feel free to message me any follow up questions since I’ll have a little bit of free time the next couple of days.

I’m located in South Florida, these are for local pickup currently as it’s too hot for shipping.

07/18/2024

Hey everyone, I currently have a handful of Mille Fleur and Red Mottled boys that can fly the coop. I think one would even work great for a Blue Laced Red project. Some are full mottled and some are split to mottled but all have at least 1 copy of the mottling gene.

I don’t currently have any girls available at this time.

I’ll be posting pictures later this week so let me know if you’re interested!

Hey everybody, it’s been a long time since I’ve last posted.

I want you all to know I’m still here and I’m still breeding, I’ve just cut back a lot. I’m currently finishing up nursing school and while I want to keep up with my hobby, I’ve had to cut back so that I also have plenty of time to study and focus on school.

I currently only work with Silkies at the moment, and only in three colors. Chocolate/Mauve/Mauve Splash, Black/Blue Mottled, and Red Mottled.

While I hatch and grow out a handful of chicks every now and then, it’s nothing like how I used to. So I won’t have a ton of birds available. I’m in the middle of redesigning my breeding pens so I don’t really have eggs available at this moment either. Though hopefully I will in the future.

Thank you everyone who continues to support me! I hope by next year I can be back into the full swing of things and working on my birds like I used to.

Happy new years!

Here are some of the charts I made a bit ago. I gotta find where I saved the other ones.

I’ve been trying to make different charts for different genes and posts about the genetics of birds and how I’ve been working with mine.

Didn’t realize how similar to these two look 😂. I think her name should be Pinecone.

Sorry I haven’t been replying to messages and questions. We had to deal with the hurricane down here, even if it was minor. I ended up losing a couple birds because of a freak branch.

I’ll get back to everyone shortly, but it’s possible I’m no longer going to work on my Wheatens as I lost my rooster and don’t have a male for them.

This is the youngest male I currently have in a Chocolate pen. I don’t even have a name for him yet, I’m open to suggestions.

He’s about 7 months old now, and is Black split to Chocolate. I currently have him over Chocolate and Mauve pullets and hens.

I’m really excited for a lot about his type. He has an amazing cushion, nice height to it. A great crest, good toes, nice foot feathering. And his bone structure seems to be growing good so far.

Honestly his only major concern are his wings. But I have him in with my nicest winged girls to try and fix that. Hopefully he’ll bring plenty to the table with his offspring, though it might be a short while until he’s fully ready to go.

Trying to get a photo of all these girls was impossible, so video it is.

Loving how they look and can’t wait for them to begin laying again after this heat wave. I’ve got a fan in there for them right now.

There’s something so nice about a well bred bird.

I love all chickens, but there is something so different and beautiful about a bird that’s been bred with precision and hard work. They have beautiful type and gorgeous pattern, and they look leagues better than their hatchery counterpart.

While mine are not yet at the point I would like them to be, I’m seeing amazing improvements each generation and it pleases me.

So even though my regular laying chickens are pretty. The ones I’ve worked hard on and watched improve on mean so much to me.

These birds are ones I’ve produced using that hard work. And to see where I started and how far I’ve come. I’m incredibly happy. Still more work to do and I’m excited for what’s to come.

These gals look like they’re having some pretty intense meetings. And are upset I’m butting in 😅

I have six older chicks available, 8 weeks old.

These are all pet quality as they either have incorrect combs or less than 5 toes on both feet. They come from my test breeding of a Blue split male over Chocolate females.

2 Mauve Satins
1 Black Silkie (little silver leakage)
2 Chocolate Silkies
1 Chocolate Satin

Chicks are straight run and for local pickup or 🚢.

Pm me for questions.

Are you more of a white spots on black or black spots on white type of person?

For me it’s both! I’m loving these two pullets from my Mottled and Paint pens. They’re growing up so different, and that Mottled is slow to grow in her spots, but they’re so cute together!

03/08/2022

I also have about 7 pet quality Mauve and Chocolate Satins and Silkies that are 4 weeks old, and a handful that are 2 weeks old.

These chicks have either a straight comb or less than five toes on each foot. Or five toes but not ideal.

They would do great for somebody who just wants some Mauve and Chocolate babies but doesn’t care about breeding too much. These chicks are all from test breedings with my birds. Snobby Silkie male over Snobby and Chicks on the beach females.

But he’s just so gosh darn sweet and snuggly.

Remember those Mottleds I talked about previously? Well I have them growing out. A Silkie cockerel and a Satin pullet.

She has the most beautiful iridescent purple shine to her feathers. And they’re already looking like a good start to the mottling in their feathers.

Can’t wait to watch them grow and see if they make the cut!

Look at these two adorable Mottled babies! One Satin pullet and one Silkie, I believe, cockerel. About 2 months old now and looking adorable.

The Satin has darker skin than the Silkie, as well as the start of tipped mottling. The Silkie still mostly just has patches of mottling.

They were an accidental hatch when one of my Mottleds went broody but they are super cute and I’m happy to watch them grow.

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been dealing with a loss and haven’t been able to be out there taking photos and spending as much time with by birds as I usually do.

So here’s a dump of some photos I took today with one of my growout pens. Got some Mauve, Blue split, Red/Buff/Cuckoo growouts in this one. Super excited about these birds after making my selections on who to keep and such. Can’t wait for Spring breeding from them!

The rain has finally stopped long enough for everybody to get cleaned up and for me to take some photos!

These are some of the birds in my Paint pens. Mostly Paints and Blacks, I tend not to keep the Whites from Paint breeding.

My two males right now are Checkers and Dice. There’s more I want to improve in my males next year than my females, but improvements nonetheless.

1. Again, shorter backs is the game. Long backs are a problem in Checkers back and in Dice’s girls. But luckily I have them all with partners that should compliment that.

2. Beards. Some of them have very small beards (or have had them plucked in the case of my NN girl) and so I’d like to improve that a bit.

11/06/2021

Sorry for the lack of update on pens everybody. It’s been raining a ton these past few days and that doesn’t make for good photos.

Plus I’ve been trying to make sure that the pens are in a good zone to not get soaked. So far so good, but they do still get wet so the birds aren’t in perfect condition at the moment.

Ok, little late in posting this one.

These are my Buff (or Lemon) Cuckoo and Red Cuckoo birds. I only just got started in these colors this year as I obtained my stock. So at the earliest I will only be offering eggs at the end of 2022 or possibly grow-outs I don’t plan to keep. Otherwise, I’ll be hoarding every egg and chick!

I currently only have a pair, Bumblebee and Honey, as well as a possible younger pair and a couple chicks. I will also be getting more birds soon to hopefully flesh out the pen a bit more, and possibly set up a second one.

Bumblebee (Bumble for short) is my main male. He has some black leakage in his wings and tail, and his overall color and skin is a little light. But he is a double barred male.

Honey is a beautiful darker Buff Cuckoo. She has the darker overall color and skin that I want, but still has leakage in her tail and wings as well.

They’re both only about 5-6 months old and have some more growing to do. So I’ll be watching over them as we get closer to Spring.

Currently my main goal is to just increase numbers for the next year. But of course, even then I have other goals I hope to improve upon if I can.

For starters, I want to try and remove as much of the black s**t from their wings and tails as I can. A good Buff and Red should be a lovely golden color all over. I could get lucky and get a lot of really nice ones during this year, or it could take a couple years to truly remove that s**t, but I’m okay with that.

I also would love to darken the Buff color as much as possible. This is because the barring gene already lightens the bird due to its genetic nature. So I would love to have my Buffs as dark as possible in order to combat that lightening so that the bird isn’t too bright. You can see how light it makes Bumble, and I’d prefer him a bit darker.

Of course there’s also smaller goals such as darkening skin and comb color, work on the roundness of tails, etc. But since everybody is still growing, I won’t make decisions such as those until they’re full grown. As they could improve with age.

11/01/2021

So to start I’m gonna talk about my Chocolate/Mauve/Mauve Splash pen.

My main breeder boy is Moose! He came directly from Snobby Silkies along with a beautiful hen. While he isn’t perfect, he has a lot of good going for him that I need with my other birds.

He’s currently paired up with a Mauve Satin, a Blue Satin, a Chocolate Silkie, and a Black frizzle Silkie.

I also have a handful of Chocolate and Mauve Silkie pullets growing up. I’ll later determine quality and decide if I want to pair any up with him or to try and find another good male to compliment them.

My two main goals for this year are:
1. Work on backs. In most of my breeder groups, I’ve been having an issue with long backs, so I’m hoping to use Moose’s short back to help fix that.
2. Clean up wings. Moose has slightly messy wings, so I’m hoping to work on nice, tight wings with his future sons. Luckily my current girls have very good wings.

A couple other things I’d like to see improve if I’m able to are tails and crests. Less hard feathers in tails and larger, more rounded crests. Of course, if nothing else I’ll keep them the same and work on them in 2023.

I’m very excited to start breeding this Spring, as they will be absolutely gorgeous regardless!

*Birds in this pen come from Snobby Silkies and Chicks on the Beach, as well as my own breeding.*

My main Halloween pumpkin this year! Had a blast making it and so proud of how well it turned out.
