Do you know about our short-term foster program with Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League ? Pups in our Peggy's Picks program only need to be fostered for 7 DAYS!

As the only open admission shelter in Palm Beach County, kennel space is very important and recently we have been overcrowded. This short-term foster program is fantastic because not only do pups get to decompress in a home for a week before moving to Peggy Adams, but it also helps free much needed kennel space at ACC so we can continue our mission to help animals in need in our county!

On the fence about becoming a pet foster? Try this program and foster a pup for just 1 week to see if fostering is right for you! All fostering with ACC is totally FREE, you just need to provide love!

Remember, fostering saves 2 lives: the life of the pup you foster and the life of the pup who get that kennel space 💕

It's Senior Sunday once again! Say hello to Tulip! 🐶🐾

This shy girl was actually first brought to the shelter as a baby back in 2015 and was adopted along with her littermate, Ember, but when her owner passed, the two sisters unfortunately had to be surrendered as there was no one to care for them. Tulip is looking for someone to give her lots of love in her golden years!

It's the first Caturday of September! 🐱🐾

Meet this week's Caturday spotlight: Baja Blast!
This sweet baby was brought in by a Good Samaritan who found them in her backyard in Greenacres. She came in with her 3 brothers who are also still at the shelter: Agador Sparticus, Bearclaw Johnson, and Minion Mo. Baja Blast can often be found cuddling with her brothers in their room by the window, watching people come and go from the shelter.

We're so happy to announce that local children's author, R.G. Taylor, has generously offered to partner with PBCACC for our Clear the Shelters crescendo event this Saturday!

R.G. Taylor will be offering signed copies of his book, Spike and the Holiday Parade, to anyone who comes out to the event and adopts a furry friend of their own!

FEMA has released new flood zone maps, adding thousands more residents into high-risk flood zones.

The new maps are effective 12/20/24 requiring property owner's immediate attention!
Three open houses are being held in September at locations countywide to provide residents an opportunity to learn more about their flood zones and risks! Representatives from the county, municipalities, FEMA and the insurance industry will be available answer questions and provide information.

Also, at the above link, is a quick and easy tool to determine your flood zone by entering your address. If no pending flood zone results, current flood zone remains the same.

Clear the Shelter continues! So far over 175 cats, 100 dogs, and 3 rabbits have been adopted!

We're honored to once again be participating in Clear The Shelters (Desocupar Los Albergues), an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign led by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal, and sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition! We are just one of more than 1,400 shelters promoting pet adoptions across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam that will be celebrating the 10th year of this annual event!

Meet Cam (formerly Barbie) who was adopted Halloween 2023 by her new mom, Sharon, and lives with her Labrador Retriever big brother, Diezel! Cam loves playing fetch in the water ever since her furry big brother taught her how to swim. When she's not exploring the coast with Diezel, her mom is taking her into the office so she can hang out with all her work friends and guard the office. 🐕🌊

Happy Caturday, Palm Beach County! 🐱🐾

Meet this week's Caturday spotlight: Crystal!
This lovely girl is very sweet and has a cuddly nature to go alone with her soft fur! When she first arrived at the shelter as a stray from Palm Beach Gardens, Crystal was very matted. In her time at ACC with lots of care and grooming, staff have been able to relieve Crystal's discomfort. Stop on by the shelter to meet this pretty girl (she loves head and chin scratches)!

Help us end Clear the Shelters with a celebration!

This super fun, family-event on Saturday, September 7th from 12-4pm marks the ending of the month-long, nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign! Everyone is invited to not only meet our pets that are looking for families and learn more about what PBCACC offers, but to also enter raffles, eat some free Italian ices, take photos with a firetruck and ACC truck, spin the prize wheel, and make art at the free coloring station!

Raffles will be $1 per ticket with lots of fun prizes donated from local businesses and all proceeds will go to improving our shelter and providing care to the homeless pets of Palm Beach County!

This week's playgroup rockstar spotlight is on Betsy! 🐶⭐️

Betsy is an absolutely amazing pup! Not only is she a rockstar in playgroups that gets along really well with other dogs, but she loves people too! Betsy has lots of energy and loves her treats. She's been to a few events with our volunteers who say that she is absolutely lovely and does very well in the car.

Betsy was found wandering stray by one of our Animal Control Officers and has been waiting for someone to bring her into their family for almost 120 days. She is the longest resident here at ACC and to help her into the next chapter of her life, when she gets adopted she will go home with a whole bunch of housewarming gifts!

Here at ACC we love our community cats so much that we even have one our own! 🐱💕

Meet Trollip! This sweet girl has lived at the shelter as a community cat for over a decade. She showed up one day outside of one of our dog kennels as a kitten and hasn't left! Our team took her into our clinic to be spayed and microchipped. She wasn't a fan of being an indoor kitty, so we returned her to her home outside of the kennel where she has stayed ever since! Our staff all absolutely adore her and ensure she gets fed twice a day and gets her preventatives as well!
