We’ve had to wait for the cryoprecipitate (made from plasma) because it is difficult to obtain.
he is 14% on the VWD scale and has already shown that he has a clotting problem.
I brought him home as boarding bills were mounting up and we need money for the surgery.
He is the sweetest Dobie ever. Not a mean bone in his poor body.
He’s very thin because he doesn’t care to eat. I’m presuming because the hernia causes pain.
The surgery will be complicated by the fact that his colon is “bunching up” so Dr. Unis (an amazing surgeon) will also have to go in thru his abdomen to fix that problem besides the hernia which requires a mesh. A gastropexy is going to be “thrown in” at the same time.
Doberman Rescue Concern is a 501(c)3 , all volunteer based
100% of all donations go directly to Drako

So....I don't post asking for money very often for Rescues, and I definitely don't unless I know the dog personally. So this is a special ask....

Please meet Drako. He is the sweetest most lovable Dobby ever (at least I have ever met). He found his way to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control on June 1st as a stray with extremely large masses on him (one on his a**s) and arthritis. 3 days later he found himself on the Urgent List due to his medical conditions and the shelter being over capacity. He had 48 hours to find a savior....and he did with Doberman Rescue Concern 🥰

Everyone who has met him has just fallen in love with him, as you can see from the photos/videos. He has been absolutely amazing at his vet appointments and has been the best patient.

After further testing, some of the masses are just fatty tumors (a miracle!) but others not so much. Here is what has been found after further testing: "Drako has a perineal hernia which requires surgery by a board certified surgeon as a mesh has to be used. He also has Von Willebrands Disease which is a bleeding disorder common to Dobermans and will require cryoprecipitate (made from blood plasma)."

Good news is his blood work was unremarkable so with the surgery and his bleeding disorder under control he should have many many more years to make someone happy!! The initial testing was $980 plus the cost of the upcoming surgery and cryoprecipitate. So any donations to this awesome rescue would be so helpful. 💞 You can donate through Zelle or PayPal info below:

Maurice is an alumni of DRC. I missed the opportunity to Introduce Maurice & his Dad David at our event.
Maurice was severely abused and was pulled out of Clewiston. It was over a year before he would wag his stump of a tail or relax and enjoy his environment .
He now likes to run errands with his Dad and is a social butterfly despite the fact he is on four different meds taken multiple times daily. He now lives the good life because of the love & care of his furever family.
Thank you David , his daughter Danni & Maurice for supporting, donating & attending Doberman Rescue Concern Event Thursday night.
What a difference David has made in the lives of many of the dogs of DRC .
