With the private pet cremation option, your pet is gently placed in its own private cradle for cremation to ensure the purity of the ashes. Your pet is internally tracked throughout the entire process. The entire pet cremation and memorialization process takes about 14 - 21 business days. You will receive the ashes of only your pet in a custom engraved urn. We will call to arrange a time when you can pick the urn up at Monarch or we can have it mailed to your home or via USPS with a signature required.

Recently, our founder, Dr. Mary, had the unique opportunity to visit a family-run pet crematory in Rio while she was in town. It was inspiring to see how compassion and care for pets transcends borders.

With their clean, organized facility and dedication to honoring pets, Raphael and his cousins are building something truly special. Dr. Mary even shared some tips (including how to create nose impressions!) but was so impressed with their progress and passion. 💙

A few weeks ago I get an email from Raphael, a partner in a new pet crematory in Rio asking if I’d be interesting in visiting the crematory while in was in town … how could I resist? I’m so interested to see how pet cremation (and death) is handled in other countries! Well little did I know that it’s a family run business and Raphael is partnered with his 3 cousins. Only open for two months and they are doing great! Their facility was so clean and organized - which is a reflection on how they treat the pets. I gave them some advice and even taught them how to make nose impressions! But they didn’t need me - they are on their way to building a lovely, trustworthy facility. The time flew - wish I had more time! It was such a lovely way to spend my afternoon before speaking!

💔 Losing a beloved pet is never easy, especially for kids. 🐾 Monarch understands the importance of helping young hearts heal, which is why we're sharing '6 Ways to Help Kids Grieve After Pet Loss':

1️⃣ Marking Time: When a pet is diagnosed with a terminal illness or is simply getting old, create a gratitude ritual to mark the passage of time.

2️⃣ Memento: Help them select or create a keepsake, like a paw print impression, to cherish their pet's memory.

3️⃣ Bowl of Memories: Have everyone in the family write down as many happy memories as they can think of on an individual piece of paper and place them all in a bowl. Take turns picking a memory and reading them together.

4️⃣ Tribute Video: Create a touching video tribute with photos and memories to celebrate their pet's life.

5️⃣ Eternal Light: Use a battery-powered LED candle and keep it on next to picture of their pet.

6️⃣ Portraits: Encourage them to draw, paint, or craft a portrait of their pet, capturing their unique bond.
