David Needs You Now More Than Ever!

David has come a long way. After weeks of care and treatment, he was finally cleared for surgery. His blood work looks good, and the surgeon’s report was very encouraging.

He’s ready. The first surgery will focus on his hind leg. It involves excision of the femoral head and stabilizing the tibia and fibula with plates and screws. It’s a major step toward getting him out of pain and back on his feet. But that’s just the beginning. In a few weeks, David will undergo a full amputation of his front leg.

The bacteria has been treated and is under control, but the damage on the front leg was too extensive. There’s no way to save it. It’s heartbreaking, but it’s the only path forward for him to live without constant suffering.

David is ready. The vets are ready. All he needs now is your support.

Your donations have already brought him this far—thank you. Because of you, David received lifesaving treatment and reached the point where surgery is finally possible.

Now we’re asking for your support to help with David’s urgent surgeries and ongoing care.

Every dollar makes a difference. Every share spreads his story. Let’s get David through this—together.

💜 David is fighting with all his strength to recover.
Yesterday, David was seen by a second surgeon, and after a thoughtful discussion between both surgeons and the internist veterinarians, they made the decision to try to save his back leg. This will be a long journey, requiring time, intensive 24/7 care, and unwavering dedication. But for David — this brave little soul — every effort is worth it.
Please consider to help David. He needs us all together to continue this fight. We cannot do this alone.
Your support makes all the difference.
On behalf of David, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much to everyone who has donated to help him so far.
If you haven’t had the chance yet, we hope you’ll consider donating to help him continue receiving the care he very much need and deserves. ✨ Every bit counts — there’s no such thing as a small donation. Every dollar is a big help. Together, we can give David the chance at the life he deserves.

Look at that face 💜

How can we deny this angel help? Who can resist such an angel's face pleading for help?

David is on his way to an intensive care hospital right now, where a blood transfusion will be done today, and he’ll stay there until he get ready for surgery.

We’re fighting to save at least part of one leg so he might one day wear a prosthetic. But no matter the outcome — even if both legs must be amputated — we’re with him every step of the way.

David dragged himself through the streets in unbearable pain, hungry, thirsty, ignored, exposed to the heat and rain. He fought alone. That terrible part of his life ended because we promised to him that he will never fight alone again.

With two legs, or two and a half — David will never be abandoned, ignored, or unloved again. He is a warrior, and we are his army.

Thank you to everyone who has donated or shared his story. Thanks to you we have been able to provide him care this far. But the fight is just starting. If you haven’t donate yet, please consider donating today. His surgeries, recovery, and long-term care are costly — and we can’t do this without you.

David Is Preparing for Double Amputation.

Based on the condition of his infected limbs, scar tissue, bone damage, and even parasitic infestation, our vets believe he was dragging himself on the road—injured, alone, and in agony, for far longer than we can imagine.

He endured unimaginable pain. No medicine. No care. No kindness. And he survived.
We don’t know how. But we do know this: David is alive for a reason. And that reason is to finally live a life filled with love, safety, and happiness.

Now that he’s with us, we are doing absolutely everything in our power to save him. His road to recovery includes fighting infection, severe anemia, dangerous bacteria, and financial stress.

He’s being stabilized as we wait for lab result, and prepare him for a double leg amputation.
One front leg. One back leg. This will be a first for us, it will be challenging, but as you can see he is not giving up, then either we.

We are not giving up. We are here to save lives and that’s what we’re doing. As many of you know it has been difficult financially speaking, and sometimes we say: we cannot take one more, but here we are, how can we just let this sweet soul to keep fighting alone?

David is a warrior. A survivor. A gentle, trusting soul who’s been through hell and still wags his tail.
He deserves to run. To heal. To be loved. To have a home.

We’re fighting for him. But we can’t do it alone.

To everyone who has donated, thank you. Thanks to you he is being taking care, you are giving David a second chance.
If you haven’t donated yet, please do.
If you can share his story, ask friends to support, or even give again, please do.

David Has Already Survived the Unimaginable. Now He Needs Us to Survive What Comes Next. David is only six months old — just a baby — but his short life has already been filled with unthinkable pain. He was hit by a car and left to suffer alone on the side of the road in a rural area. Days passed. He couldn’t stand. He couldn’t walk. He dragged himself in agony, both his right front leg and left hind leg shattered, the bones exposed. The injuries are so severe and left untreated for so long that both wounds were infested with worms. He lay there, in torment, as the world kept moving around him — until a young girl and her mother saw him and reached out for help. Now David is safe. He’s finally in good hands with our team. But we’re facing a heartbreaking truth: we can’t save him without you. David’s injuries are critical. Both broken legs require urgent, complex surgeries. But he’s too weak right now. His bloodwork shows that his body is still fighting off severe infection and inflammation. Before we can operate, he needs intensive medical care — to regain strength. His road to recovery will be long and painful. But it’s not impossible. Not with your help. David deserves a chance to grow up. A chance to run, to play, to feel love without pain. A future where he’s not just surviving, but thriving. He didn’t give up — and we won’t give up on him. Please, if you can, donate to help us give David the care and surgeries he desperately needs. Every contribution brings him one step closer to a life free from pain. Help David stand again. Help him heal. Help him feel what it means to be safe, loved, and whole. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for believing in his future. Thank you in advance for your support. Donations: www.patriciablancofoundation.org Zelle or PayPal: [email protected]. Thank you in advance

Spay & Neuter is a 🆘 Help Needed! 🐾

The list of dogs and cats waiting to be fixed keeps growing—but right now, 11 cases need urgent attention. We’re asking for help to spay and neuter 10 dogs and 1 cat as soon as possible.
These animals are in rural areas of the Dominican Republic, where many people care in their own way but often lack access to proper resources and knowledge about animal welfare.
Some of these animals are already in heat. A few are being kept tied up because their owners can’t afford to fix them and can’t risk more unwanted litters. Two male dogs are also tied up—they’ve been escaping to chase females and getting into fights.
We’re working on education in these communities, but spaying and neutering is a huge first step—a practical and immediate way to reduce suffering, control the population, and shift how animals are treated long-term.

Right now, we have 49 animals on our waiting list, but these 11 are emergencies. We’re knocking on doors, asking for help. If you can sponsor or donate toward their surgeries, it would make a real difference—right now, where it’s needed most.

The good news is that more people are open to spay and neuter their pets, also more people in the neighborhoods are willing to care for the strays and reporting the females in heat to avoid new liters.
We’re also seeing an increase in people stepping up to assist with aftercare of those who need to go back to their environment.
That’s huge!
But here’s the hard part: prices are rising fast. Like everything else, veterinary costs and supplies have gone up — which are now through the roof.

Our spay/neuter fund is currently at zero. We don’t have an emergency fund at the moment but emergencies can’t wait.
Below are just a few of the animals who urgently need to be fixed 🆘 we will be posting more in small groups and individually.
If you can donate even a small amount please do, Every bit helps us keep going and preventing more lives to be born to suffer.

Thank you for caring and supporting spay and neuter.

Why Are We Still Accepting This?
(The post we’re sharing is about a dog left in a parking lot in a hotel because even during a emergency evacuation the hotel doesn’t allow animals).

It’s heartbreaking—and worse, it’s not rare. Cruelty toward animals isn’t isolated and Discrimination toward people who live animals It’s happening everywhere, every day, across the world. And the most painful part? Most people just look away.

Why are we expected to accept this? Why is there no massive, global movement to put a stop to this abuse? Why do we act like animals are disposable, like they don’t feel, love, or trust?

For those of us who share our lives with animals, they’re not “just pets.” They’re family. For many, they’re our kids. They sleep next to us, comfort us when we’re low, and give us unconditional love. What do they get in return from the world at large? Neglect. Exploitation. Violence.

And let’s be honest: when you look at the damage done to properties and to the planet—war, greed, destruction—it’s not animals causing the harm. It’s humans.

So no, we shouldn’t be okay with this. And yes, we should be demanding change. Not quietly. Loudly. Publicly. Relentlessly.

Animals don’t have a voice in our system—but we do. It’s time to use it.

We need to tell the truths that are happening in Winnipeg.
*We had owners in Norway House stand in line three times with their small pets only to be turned away from flying. Each time they stood in line for hours in a community that they do not live in but are being evacuated from there to Winnipeg.

* We have people in a Red Cross shelter telling them that they have to remove their cat.
He is also coming to us.

*This picture is Benny. He's sitting in a hotel parking lot with his owners for the past few hours because the hotel that has been arranged for them doesn't allow pets. They won't allow him inside.
At what point do Northern evacuees get treated differently with their animals that they have to sit outside in a parking lot with their animal without that support needed?
We are picking up Benny right now.
So the owners can finally relax and sit down have something to eat and have a half decent shower and know that their little dog is in good care.
Truths...
**All owned pets go back to their owners**
MAA does not force surrenders on evacuees. We have The Fosters keep in contact and arrange visits
