Spring came in full bloom this year at The Stables!

We ventured to Camp CareFree for a day, horse school brought new opportunities for local homeschool kids, we had our Adult Retreat where everyone learned lots about riding and horsemanship, and our rock picking contest that won a lucky family 5 free lessons!

If you are looking to book a lesson, now is a great time to schedule! This warm spring sun and cool mountain air makes for a refreshing ride ☀️⛰️

Our Adult Camp will be on April 19th, 20th, and 21st!

In March, we will also host an open barn "Horseshuterie Nite" for any adults interested in our lesson program or plan on joining us for camp! This will include a horse shoe themed charcuterie along with wine to sip, treats to feed the horses, co****le boards, and horse shoes to play! You will also get to meet the instructors and horses in a stalled setting, and get a look around our facility. I will post the date and time on facebook and instagram so follow us on both to stay updated with barn activities this year!!

This year, we are glad to offer Horse Camp at The Stables at Moore's Springs!

The Stables at Moore’s Springs day camp is designed to promote horsemanship and teach casual western riding. Kids of all riding levels will enjoy the fun that our three day camp has to offer! Our camps concentrate on teaching confident riding skills in the arena and smaller paddocks to prepare kids for trail riding. We start off by focusing on common knowledge of horses and tack so riders have a better understanding before mounting. Instructors will patiently teach and apply problem solving skills with horses and riders. At all times, we put your child's safety and happiness first. This year, The Stables at Moore's Springs is building a community amongst the barn and the riders that love our horses! I want this camp to create lasting friendships and experiences that your child will cherish forever in a true equine setting.

Each Camper will go home with a new found ability and confidence in riding, and a t-shirt to remember their time at camp with us!

We will also be hosting an "Open Barn" event to allow future lesson goers and campers to meet our horses in a stalled setting, talk to the instructors, and check out our facility! This Valentine's day, don't settle for chocolates or roses! 🚫🍫🥀
Treat that special someone with a date they won't forget with our Valentines Picnic Trail Ride Lesson! 🧺♥️

Our picnic trail ride would include a 30 minute ride to our prettiest destination with a perfect view of our local mountains, where you and that special someone will get to enjoy a lunch of your choice and a bottle of wine! We'll take a polaroid photo for you and your significant other to remember the best date ever, then trail ride 30 minutes back through our wooded trails!

The lesson will last an hour and 45mins, and we have 2 slots available at 2pm and 4pm on February 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th!
$150 Per couple! Includes the 1hr trail ride lesson, picnic meal, and wine! $50 deposit required to secure your spot!

Our Christmas Barn Party was the best event of the year!
The stalls were festive, fun, interactive, and personable to each horse! The decorators did an excellent job at embodying each horse into a Christmas theme.
Congratulations to the Dover's for winning the decorating contest on Whiskey's stall!

The rock picking contest went so much better than expected, I ended up rewarding each kid who participated a t-shirt ♥️

We are offering prepaid lessons in the form of gift certificates to give out this holiday season. Each gift certificate comes with a stuffed horse and is $40 per lesson. There's no limit to how many lessons per certificate, whether that's 1 or 100!
We are also offering "A Day with a Horse" gift certificates as well! A day with a horse is a 4 hour lesson for up to 5 people. You get to decorate your horse, braid their hair, groom and saddle, then ride for the remaining 2 and a half hours! "A Day with a Horse" is $100 per person.

Gift certificates are good for the whole year of 2024, so you can conveniently book around your schedule through our online booking platform!

Meet the crew!!!

This week we are introducing our 6 year old buckskin mare, "Spirit" lookalike, "Gewiz Sheza Babe", Cohiba!

Much like Spirit, Cohiba seems to think she belongs to the wild! Her energy matches her age, and this girl has a motor! Her favorite activities include galloping full speed, jumping, barrel racing, pole bending, and leading her herd through the trails. She also enjoys being brushed, painted on, and relaxing in the sunshine in her spare time.
Cohiba is an excellent representation of what a real ranch horse would entail. You don't have to beg this one to walk! She's light on her feet, can turn on a dime, and has the most sensitive leg pressure cues out of all of the horses we have. She's what I call "the last step" in our program. Once you’ve confidently mastered riding all of the other lesson horses and you're ready for that next step, Cohiba is your gal!

Howdy!!

In our program we teach beyond just riding. We believe horsemanship is far more than hopping on and going for a run! Horses require patience, time, and responsibility. Just like with the horses, we are dedicated to helping our rider’s meet their individual goals and work at their own pace. Whether that goal be to own a horse some day, or to learn to ride outside of the arena, we work patiently with each student to help them form and expand upon their confidence and ability as a rider.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Our local Ryan's Case For Smiles - Winston Salem, NC Chapter will participate in MOPS (Miles of Pillowcase Smiles) to make as many pillowcases as we can in 2 days. We hope you can join in for a few hours, a day or both days. There will be jobs for people who sew and those who don’t. So come and bring a friend!

Dates: Monday, September 11th and Tuesday, September 12th

Times: 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM

Location: The Pavilion at Moore’s Springs Manor, 1229 Hall Road, Westfield, NC 27053

Snacks, lunch and dinner will be provided both days.

What do I need to bring?
If you sew, bring your serger/sewing machine, scissors, cutting mat and rotary cutter and blades

If you don’t sew, bring an ironing board and iron.

“I can’t come by I still would like to help, what can I do?”
You can donate snacks or help sponsor the meals for the volunteers. We have hundreds of pillowcases that need to be washed and dried, so you could help with that prior to the event.

Our last kids camp was a very fun group! They had a lot of enthusiasm when in the barn and out in the arena, soaking up as much information as they could! Most of our campers in this group were new to horseback riding, but they all excelled in our obstacle course and out on the trail ride! Even though the horses were a little ornery, each camper was able to get their mount to listen and respect them while also practicing safe and respectful horsemanship, on and off of the ground! We and the horses hope to see these ladies back out real soon! 🤠♥️

Our 11-13 year old camp was such a great group! We had a mixture of new riders and current lesson kids and they all did a great job at supporting and helping each other! Our newer riders were very eager to learn and had a great intuition around the horses. I could see growth from all of my riders in just the 3 days we had, even though the weather was no always on our side. Luckily no one melted in the rain on Friday, and the sun came out for Saturday and Sunday! This group made us very proud with their positive attitudes and they all displayed excellent horsemanship! We hope to see them soon at regular lessons🤠♥️

Due to weather we are pushing this weeks kids camp to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (June 23rd, 24th, and 25th). The times will be from 9am-3pm on Friday and Saturday, and 12-6 on Sunday!

I couldn't have asked for a better group with our first Kids Camp! All of our campers did such a great job at listening and staying on task.
It was so sweet to see my current lesson kids helping teach their fellow campers who hadn't ridden with us yet all of the things they have learned from their regular lessons. The group was very uplifting and positive in and out of the arena, which makes our job easy when the campers not only want to see themselves succeed, but also help their peers succeed as well!

It was very rewarding to watch them grow in just those 3 days! I could tell they all left with a newfound confidence in their horse handling abilities! We can't wait for our upcoming camp next week! 🤠

Yesterday was such a success! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us! We scheduled some new lessons, had a blast playing our games, and the horses really enjoyed meeting their new students! Can't wait to host another event like this.

Howdy y'all! Tomorrow, June 3rd from 2-6 we will be hosting our kids open barn event! Bring the family and join us for a fun day at the barn! We'll have corn hole and horseshoes to play, snacks to feed the horses, kids and adults t-shirts for sale, and a few $1 prized games! We will also have a timed barrel race on a stick horse for all of my competitive kiddos who think they can beat the clock!

There will also be an exclusive offer available to those who make it out to this event, you and your child won't want to miss it! 🤠
