They say it takes a village.
Today a few of our technicians had the opportunity to help some of the dogs rescued from the recent hoarding situation in Pawtucket RI. A huge shout out Dr Leoni and staff at Diamond Hill Animal Clinic for coordinating today's challenge. 15 volunteers were able to examine, sedate, shave down, vaccinate, bathe and heartworm test 15 dogs in 4 hours! Amazing teamwork !
Please refrain from any negative comments about the previous owners, as in many hoarding cases there usually a mental health aspect to it. Let's send these pups positive vibes for a happy and healthy future.
Below is a post from the Friends of Pawtucket shelter listing all of the organizations involved.

Hey Everyone!
We felt you all may like an update on the status and happenings of the pups from the recent hoarding situation. We also wanted to be sure to give a big shout out to the organizations that came together and made an efficient group response to a horrible situation.
We also know assisting in situations like this creates a financial burden, so we’d like to take this opportunity to post the donation links of the organizations involved and pin the post to our page so everyone looking to donate can choose who they’d like to help.
We would also like to give a huge thank you to all those who have donated so far! The response has been incredible!
Firstly, 18 of the dogs will remain with and be adopted out of the Pawtucket Animal Shelter. Huge thank you to Dr. Leoni and Diamond Hill Animal Clinic for sedate groomings for 16 of these dogs, the compassion their is amazing.
Thank you to the Potter League for Animals for not only taking in 10 of the hoarding dogs but 2 of the shelters prior dogs as well to make space.

If you would like to help in other ways, most if not all of these organizations are in need of volunteers and fosters, click on their pages to apply, foster homes can end up being the biggest help
Also a special shout out to a company that has made a helpful donation to be used for all the dogs, to include the ones at the shelter that aren’t from the hoarding situation. I couldn’t find a page to tag them in this but thank you Dragonwolf and Feathers Co!
