Healing Paws Cat Sanctuary was founded by Jackie Kibler; a retired veterinary technician of over 25yrs in 2015. After retiring Jackie knew her journey was far from over and decided to put her skills to use helping the many feral of her surrounding communities.

Healing Paws Cat Sanctuary is the ONLY 501c3 Non Profit ALL feral free roaming cat sanctuary located in Ormond B*h, FL. We specialize in feral that can no longer live in the wild for health/disabilities/ behavior issues. Here they live out the remainder of their 9 lives where they are cared for as needed. We are also HUGE TNR advocates (trap-neuter-release) and are dedicated to humanely reducing the feral and stray cat population in our area. While not all cats will be deemed suitable for adoption as indoor pets, our rescue works to better the lives of all the feral that come into our care. The cats are humanely trapped, evaluated by the rescue, and taken to the veterinary clinic to be spayed / neutered and vaccinated and treated for any medical issues. Our primary goal is to trap and tame/socialize as many kittens/cats as possible. If it’s determined that they can be we will rehabilitate the animal for adoption. ALL our rescues will have their ear notched when they are fixed. This is so they can be identified as fixed by animal control and other rescues so if they are outside kitties or happen to sneak out if indoor they will not get picked up as a stray feral.

Through the TNR (trap-neuter-release) program, healthy kitten/cats that can’t be rehabilitated for adoption are either returned to their familiar habitat where they were trapped, are socialized into the colony at the sanctuary or are adopted out as Barn Kitties to live their lives out doing what they love best ... Hunting. Kittens/cats that are found to have health issues/disabilities are kept at the sanctuary to live out their remaining 9 lives.

TNR also helps to cut down on the many diseases that feral cats can carry and transmit to each other such as Feline FIV, Feline FeLV, Feline Distemper and Feline Rabies.

In 2018 Summer Cleland came on as Vice-President of our rescue. Summer specializes in helping to cut down the local feral cat population by advocating local TNR (trap-neuter-release) programs in surrounding communities. She can also help you to get set up with the local TNR program in your city/county. Summer can also teach you how to trap/release the correct way if your just starting out.

Summer is also our pregnant/newborn and bottle baby expert. Pregnant feral that are trapped and too far along to be spayed will give birth in a safe environment where once ready the momma’s will be spayed and eventually released back into their colony. The kittens will then be socialized, and once all vetted will be adopted out to their furever homes. Any kitten’s that are found without their momma’s are taken in, bottle fed and cared for until old enough and fully vetted then will be found a furever home also. Each kitten/cat has 24/7 ongoing care where they are monitored closely. During an average kitten season the sanctuary can have over 20 kittens and 4 mommas come thru our doors, most with some sort of medical issue that needs to be addressed.

Since opening our doors we have been able to help over 300 of the local feral that otherwise get ignored and we are home to over 60 feral with ongoing medical issues. Healing Paws Cat Sanctuary are huge advocates for the humane treatment of feral, semi-feral and stray cats. They strongly promote the TNR (trap-neuter-release) Program as a humane solution to the overpopulation of cats in our cities. They also aim to provide TNR when necessary and to rescue colony kittens/cats and provide them with medical care, tame them and then place them for adoption. They pledge to give the feral and semi-feral cats in their area a better way of life.
