Olivia's "Macy's Thanksgiving Day" float project for 4th grade. Was supposed to be based on food and nutrition. So much food the world would be without if it wasnt fir honey bees. She wanted to do a beehive, so we built a small version and let her decorate it.

A few projects I have been able to finish up recently. A couple of pecan side tables for our living room and a custom California King bed for some friends of ours. Bed is all solid wood from a 100+ years old farmhouse. Weighs well over 700lbs.

Fresh finally jarred and ready to purchase. A full 22 oz jar of honey from is ready. These bees did spend about 4 weeks on . Let us know if you want some because it typically doesn't last long. We also have a limited supply of honey with as well.

Finally got some time to start pulling so I did. Out of the first three I got over 120lbs of the sweetness. Still have over 30 hives to pull from. These hives I have deeps placed as supers because these 3 hives are extremely productive. The temperatures today kept me from doing more with heat indexs well over 115°. Plan on getting the rest pulled this week. I'll start spinning it shortly and it will be available for purchase by contacting me or it is also available at our favorite local Mo'Joes in

Well when you can't get queens in time, you hope mother nature makes them naturally. Came home to multiple on my almond trees. These will do what they know.

Finally finished my first project with my Thank you for a quality machine. My biggest problem is I've had it for almost a year and I only have 23 hours on it. Not enough time in a day.

Huge shout out to Builders Discount of Wallace, NC for donating most of the materials for these walls for the JROTC Raiders program at Pender High School. We purchased the little remaining materials and fasteners, then constructed these walls for their training.

If you haven't heard, the PHS Raiders team won the Best of the Best competition in Buckingham, VA beating out 14 other schools to move on to the National Competition in GA this November. You must win a regional competition and receive an invite to compete in the Best of the Best before you can even enter. These kids train their heart out and give more effort than I can put into words. We are trying to provide then the training equipment they need to be as successful as possible in the upcoming competition. Can't wait to share their success story coming soon.

Well it finally happened. I have been on black river in for several years now with no issues. Well I got the call Thursday afternoon that a had gotten to my . Of course I was heading out of town so i was helpless. By the time I got there this afternoon I found it was a total loss. My 12 hives had been destroyed. Mounted to pallets at one time were now scattered about the for me to reclaim. It hurt seeing so much work gone so quickly. But I salvaged what I could of the hardware and brought it home. Time to make splits an rebuild.

Completed our very first order of honey party favors. 75 of these Pooh themed favors were specially made for a very sweet couple expecting a baby boy. Marie and Jesse, thank you for your business, and allowing us to be a part of the celebration!

Gibson helped me make a little pine saw dust today. Cut a bunch of 2 x 4, 6, 8, 10s and 12s for some upcoming projects around the farm. All 16' long other than the shorts from an odd shaped log. Project pictures to follow once began. Planning on building with green lumber since they will be exterior projects.

My first project finished. I cut this tree a long time ago from a Target parking lot. Has tons of character. I have 2 side tables and a coffee table curing right now.

Have multiple cedar slabs available that are over 8' in length. Ranging from 16" wide up to 30". They different thicknesses as well, between 6/4 and 10/4 thick. Tree was cut 8 months ago and it was milled last week. NOT dry for use yet.

Maxed out the today. Awesome grain, looks kinda like an electric if you have an imagination. Very impressed with the mill. Ran out of time and will have to finish it tomorrow.

Maxing out the and then some with this 34" knarly cedar. Have to trim a few knots but it's going to happen. Been waiting to see how it does with a large log. Hoping for some amazing grain.

Spent some time on the today cutting some more holly. The colors and grain patterns amaze me. Yes I know I have a tooth issue but it happened on the 2nd pass with a new blade and I hit my first ever nail. Wasn't putting a new blade on until done with the log.

Finally got the chance to a little today on my 130 Max. Cut some holly trees and the color didn't disappoint. That teal color was a first for me. Cut a few then some dimensional lumber. Can't wait to put more hours on the mill.

We just wanted to thank everyone that purchased pumpkins from us this year. This was our second year growing pumpkins and feel like it was a success. We also had the opportunity to donate pumpkins to Penderlea School. Getting these letters today from Ms. Robinson's first grade class made our day. When we bought our property some years ago we wanted a way to give back to the community and even though it was just pumpkins, we hope that we really made some children smile.

MANY hours later and we bottled 100 22oz jars. The 100th jar was already given out before the picture. The 2 small jars we are keeping for ourselves because we never enjoy our own harvest!
