Someone in one of my vet groups said their kids were asking about what happens when one of the reindeer have an in flight emergency.

The responses were awesome:

Santa has a team of Veterinary professionals all over the world on stand by. Known as the E.L.V.E.S (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System. )

There are Doctors from all over the world checking in..

We are proud to be on stand by tonight to make sure no reindeer needs medical attention during their flight!

Thank you to the good samaritans that brought in this turtle that had a fishhook stuck in its mouth- we numbed him and removed it and he went back to his natural habitat to live free of pain!
