Happy Resurrection Sunday friends!

The bleakness of the world we live in is only lifted by the joyous knowledge that this world is not, in fact, our home.

”And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. We had a great clinic this week, focusing on all things trailering. From hitching up, to loading and unloading, everyone got to participate and learn how to work together to make sure every trip off the farm is a safe and successful one.

Thanks to all who came out and made our first Horseman’s Academy a success!

This lesson covered a lot of ground with “Leading, Treating, and Stopping the Bleeding”.

We refreshed our memories on effective and safe ground control as well as tying and loose horse protocols. We also spent time covering what to do in an emergency where blood is involved. Everyone will be building their own first aid kit over the course of our Academy sessions, so that by the end we are equipped with the tools we need to be able to confidently handle any emergency that arises with our horses.

On this day of gratitude, I thought it fitting to not only acknowledge how thankful we are for each and every friend and client of Lo Bar Ranch, but also the horses that make it so special.

Every person that steps foot on the Ranch has their own unique qualities… so too, every horse with their quirks and personalities leave an impact on our lives.

We are so very thankful for the days we get to spend enjoying these beautiful creatures with all of you!

If you've ever been a student of Lo Bar Ranch, there's a good chance you had the fortune to meet and ride sweet Cherokee. She has a personality all her own, but is as gentle and kind as they come.

She, unfortunately has been battling a leg injury for the better part of this year, that we have recently found out that she will not recover from (not to mention the Cushings disease and plentiful tumors she is plagued with). Because of these things, we have made the heartbreaking decision to let her go before the winter fully hits and makes her pain level to be too much.

We are going to have a little farewell open house from 2-4 pm tomorrow, Saturday, Oct 22 for anyone has been lucky enough to know this sweet girl. She'll be thrilled to be the center of attention, and soak up all the love.
