Beautiful girlie Muse can't believe she's still waiting for her forever home. This petite 3 year old Rottie is absolutely wonderful. Whip smart, and sweet as ice cream, she's a jackpot for any Rottie lover.

DON’T KIT-NAP KITTENS!

The best thing you can do is leave found kittens alone and wait for mom to return. If you are absolutely certain that the kittens are orphaned, here’s how you can help: friendsofycas.org/foundakitten

It's THAT time of year again! Time to begin reminding everyone NOT to leave your dog in the car while you go inside, in air-conditioned comfort, to shop or eat.

Locally, we will be experiencing temperatures around 90 degrees. MUCH too warm for your dog to wait in the car for you, even for a minute. Leave them home, no matter how much they fuss.

Blue Berry Jerry AKA Buddy, has been in foster care with us for over a YEAR.
This is just unbelievable to us. His handsome Pittie looks are just a small part of who he is.
Buddy is alllll about his people. He prefers people to anything else. He's whip smart and eager to learn. He loves kids and would be amazing in a family home with kids over the age of 10. Small kids would be like bowling pins due to his goofy nature. He is approaching 4 years old and is fully vetted.

We never go that long without having some kind of livestock guardian end up at our shelter…and now we have this beautiful Akbash x Great Pyrenees mix named Chicken 🐓

For everyone who keeps asking us about George from a recent reel, George is already adopted but Chicken could be his brother from another mother and is available for adoption! He’s estimated to be around 2 years old and loves to be close to people and lean. He’s a classic livestock guardian in that he will give a couple “woofs” when he sees other dogs but is easily redirected with some good pets and snuggles.

He used to be SO confused on leash but now he’s doing great and is super easy to walk (other than he keeps bumping into your legs to get closer to you 😅).

We do not know how he is with cats (see our pinned reel to learn more about the answer to that question for most of our dogs).

Schedule an appointment for Monday-Thursday this week or meet our dogs during walk-in adoption hours on Friday or Saturday 11am-3pm.

I've been bombarded with messages from folks asking about an update on Trooper.

In case you don't remember, Trooper came our way via the Tehama County Animal Services Shelter.
This boy had suffered a tremendous amount of violent abuse. So many broken bones in his face and a fractured skull. It's a miracle he survived.

He's had a few extensive dental surgeries to remove broken bones and crushed teeth.
He's blind in one eye from severe blunt force trauma.
He's growing like a w**d under the loving care of my Aunt. She stepped up immediately to foster this adorable fella.

He's sweet, engaging and goofy. His days are filled with love and all the butt scratches he can handle.

Because of you and your generosity, we have been able to get Trooper everything he needs medically.

Crash Fund, Inc is humbled by your support!

💔💔💔PLEASE SHARE BELUGA!!!💔💔💔

This poor girl is at Front Street Animal Shelter - City of Sacramento and is at risk of euthanasia simply because she is “very timid and is not showing well to adopters in the shelter”.

Of course they aren’t networking her, so we feel like we at least have to try.

She is very affectionate according to her notes and does well with a dog she was kenneled with.

Here is a video of sweet Beluga:

WILL YOU PLEASE SHARE HER TO HELP GET HER SEEN AND GET HER OUT TO FOSTER OR ADOPTED?

HERE ARE HER NOTES PER Front Street Animal Shelter - City of Sacramento:
A680364 - BELUGA
Color: BLUE BRINDLE
Breed: CANE CORSO
Age: 2 YEARS
Kennel #: M06
Date Listed: 02/22/2024

NEEDS COMMITMENT FROM PLACEMENT PARTNER BY: 03/27/24 ⬅️ 𝘿𝙀𝘼𝘿LINE

Beluga is a sweet lady that has become very timid and is not showing well to adopters in the shelter.

ORIGINAL INTAKE DATE: 02/06/24

ANIMAL HISTORY: owner surrendered.

MEDICAL: She is vaccinated but not yet spayed or chipped.

BEHAVIORAL: 02/07/24 09:17-jc- VERY affectionate and likes to lick your hands and will try and get your face. Enjoys pets all over.

02/10/24 18:01 Seems to comfort the male dog she is with. When I entered the kennel, she greeted me and licked my hands and wanted to be petted all over. BB

02/16/24 13:47 - took out for meet and greet with a mother and adult son. She was very comfortable and excited in kennel easy to leash up. The closer we got to the yard the more stiff and nervous she became. While in the yard with the family she became even more stiff and hunkered down. The mom was able to pet her, then the son came over quickly to pet her and she yelped, whipped away, and peed. After this she was staring out of the play yard trying to avoid the family. The mother came over and pet her again, the dog slowly looked towards her with huge wale eyes and stiff posture. Decided to put her back in kennel. After she was back in kennel she was comfortable and began licking my hands and being sweet. MN

02/21/24 13:32 - took out for D2D with 6 year old male shepherd, was stiff when he approached and continued to be stiff through the whole D2D. He was shy and did not look comfortable with her. She stared at him then low growled and tried to snap at his face. We separated them, calmed both dogs down, then tried again. He was nervous and she was stiff, she watched him for a couple of seconds and then snapped at his face getting saliva in his cheek. Decided to put her into M building because of her size and interaction with a timid dog.

If you are able to foster or adopt, please reach out to the shelter ASAP.

We are so saddened to announce the passing of our beloved boy, Vinny today. The Thornburghs adopted this perfect gentleman many years ago, and he was such a joy in our clinic home. Vinny was a professional greeter, manager of the office, and cookie eater (he was also the real boss around here!) We will miss him all our days, our hearts are hurting for our clinic today 💔 We'll see you again across the Bridge, Vinny 🌈❤️
