Meet Ruby! Ruby is a 11 year old German Shepherd who is desperate for a home of her own. Ruby has been here for a year watching everyone else find their forever homes and she can't understand why no one will give her a chance. The shelter is a very stressful place for senior dogs and Ruby is no exception. The shelter is causing a lot of stress on her aging body and she deserves her forever home where she can spend her days relaxing and getting lots of love. She loves every person she meets but she is not a fan of other dogs. She is UTD on vaccinations and microchipped. If you can give this beautiful girl a chance at having a forever home please submit an application.

HOPS will be hosting a Rabies Clinic at our station on April 29th from 1 to 3pm. All are welcome. Dogs must be on a leash, and cats are in carriers.

It is with upmost sadness that we are forced to announce we will not be accepting any animals at this time, until further notice. This is due to the overwhelming amount of strays coming in, lack of staffing, and lack of funding.
This includes strays, owner surrenders and both dogs & cats.
We will be open for adoptions. So please submit an application if you have interest in one of our animals. Please call the dog warden with any stray issues (570) 579-4588.
If things change, we will do everything we can to help the community cope with animal issues again. Howeever, we are so sorry to make this decision but we are left with no choice. Thank you for understanding.

Hello everyone! Thanks to a grant from Petco, ACS will be able to administer FREE distemper vaccinations to pets throughout the month of November! Details below!

• Free distemper (canine or feline) with every spay/neuter surgery for the month of November.
• Walk in vaccine clinics in East Smithfield every Monday and Wednesday in November, 1:30 - 3:45 p.m. $5 rabies vaccine, FREE Distemper vaccine, no exam fee/office visit. **THIS WILL BE VACCINES WALK-INS ONLY, NOT SICK VISITS.
• 11/16 WELLSBORO CLINIC: Walk in vaccines 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. $5 rabies, FREE distemper.
• 11/30 WELLSBORO CLINIC: Walk in vaccines 1:30 - 3:45 p.m. $5 rabies, FREE distemper.

If your pet is due or overdue for a distemper vaccination, there won’t be better time than this! Mark your calendars appropriately and see you then!

Dear friends, We are in URGENT need of your help. On one of the hottest days of the year so far the air conditioning in our main building decided to call it quits. So now we are faced with a $5,600 bill to replace the 19 year old unit. Inability to fund raise due to Covid and soaring medical bills have already put a huge strain on our budget. Please help us keep our animlas cool and comfortable as the hot summer begins, Any amount will be appreciated more than you can know. Thank you so much!
