Such an awesome surprise from all the DDS students🥰.

We now have a new ‘lollipop/ saloon door’ style Tire, AND new jump bars (to replace the warped ones) AND two new sets of number cones!!!

All agility classes are going to meet on the upper field, furthest from the driveway.

Green cones 1-12 for out foundation drill; then Yellow cones for our coursework.

A few announcements for this week of Oct. 16:

All classes will meet on the lower field this week.
GREEN CONES - Novice groups
YELLOW CONES - INT/ADV groups

Next week of Oct. 23: we will switch back to our 'pre-drought' fields:
Monday 7p and 8p Beginner/Novice Agility on lower field;
Monday night 8p INT/ADV group back on upper field by driveway;
Tue and Wed - all classes - upper field by driveway.

The UPPER FIELD furthest from the driveway has been set up with all equipment and is available to members. It is unnumbered, but has many basic elements to practice - just use your imagination! If you want to number your own course to practice, feel free to do so - just pick up the numbers after you finish.

The upper field is available to members this week also and is set up with a Tamas Traj course if you want to practice some international elements. It is also unnumbered, but if you want to number your own course feel free to do so - just pick up the numbers after you finish.

The upper field closest to the driveway is equipped and open for business, as well as the lower field. Both fields are available to members starting today.
We are still working on the third field making sure all the cracks are filled.

Saturday, Sept. 2; 8a-10a: Looking for about 6 volunteers to come out and help fill holes in the field. Its getting hard to stay ahead of it all with these high temps and no rain. Bring some gloves if you have them - I have everything else (and gloves too).

Needless to say, but yes, we are still closed/no classes until we get some rain.

Well – the fields are beyond dry and the cracks are opening
up everywhere on the property. So, until we get some rain
(probably need 4-5”), I have decided to close the fields to
all activity☹☹☹. We just cannot stay ahead of the cracks
and I don’t want any dogs or people getting hurt.

IF AND WHEN we get some rain, I will re-evaluate the fields
and see when we can resume with classes and membership. I
will send an email out to everyone, or you can watch for an
announcement on the DDS page.

I will figure out how to compensate everyone at the end of August
and send another correspondence out to all current students. Wouldn’t
it be nice if we got rain next week and we can all get back to some agility???

WEEK OF JULY 31:
I'm just going to call this early guys.
NO EVENING CLASSES will meet this week - heat index of 105 at 7p forecast for the week.

MORNING CLASSES on TUES: 9a, 10a classes will combine and meet at 9a; WED - 9a, 10a classes will combine and meet at 9a.

I cleared the Novice/Int field of all equipment so the sprinklers can do a better job. Please do not pull any equipment out or run your dog on that field - there are some pretty good cracks in the dirt that we have not addressed. We will stick with using the ADV field for all monthly classes until we get some RAIN to fill in the cracks.

Gene and I spent a lot of time this weekend filling in cracks in the ground, on the ADV field and the lower field. I imagine this is just the start of it:(

I am not too optimistic about AUGUST. Please check in here on Sunday, August 6 to look for an announcement. If there is no rain between now and then, I will most likely shut down the facility for the month of August and/or until we get some rain. Dog safety is always a priority.

TUESDAY, JULY 11:

UPDATED 5:30 PM - Fields are fine for class tonight. Temps are hot, but I will be holding class. You decide whether you can take the heat or not.

UPDATED AT 9:35 am - RAINING here now - 10a class CANCELLED.

The sky is dark, but no rain so far here in Wylie. It's touch and go for the next hour or so on the radar. I'm keeping the morning classes 'as scheduled' until I see some rain falling from the sky. STAY TUNED for updates.

Due to the heat, we are going to do a modified schedule for all classes this week. Please use your best judgement on whether or not you need to attend.

Monday PM classes - ALL classes- Meet at 8p.

Tuesday, June 20: We are going to meet for all classes today. It's hot and humid sooooo, if you or your dog don't do well with that, please just stay home in the AC - agility will always be here:)
We had class last night and between the shade and the slight breeze, it was tolerable.

It's hot guys - heat index is over 100 which is normally my cutoff point for cancelling classes. However, I am going to break the rules and see how it feels out there tonight. We ARE GOING TO MEET FOR CLASS (unless a random rain cloud shows up) BUT PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU DON'T THINK YOU OR YOUR DOG CAN HANDLE 100+ TEMPS.
