Ms Peanut, daughter of Carli & Bourbon, sister of Ziva, Ellie Mae and Wiley. She was my first litter and the smallest, my little peanut. She proved from day 1 that although small she wouldn’t be pushed around. It was evident early that Peanut had heightened fears and anxieties, which made an immediate connection to us. I knew she’d need a special loving home and ultimately knew it would be with us. Peanut flourished on the farm, she was secure and comfortable, even riding in tractors and UTVs. Peanut loved everything she did in life (except going to the vet) she thoroughly enjoyed every moment of everyday, loved her pack, loved her momma, loved her family intensely and with the utmost loyalty. She had the sweetest, mild mannered temperament and just exuded joy. We may never know what really happened to Peanut but I’m so thankful she did not suffer and know she crossed the rainbow bridge with Jakey waiting for her…..Jakey was her absolute favorite fur being next to her momma. For us, I’m grateful for the 5 years we had with her, the joy she brought every day, the love she had for us, the laughter she brought, the smiles she was always responsible for, she was so incredibly special and loved, I will miss her everyday, her greetings were like no other. RIP my sweet Nutter Butter, you were loved and will be missed beyond measure 😞

I’ve been hesitant to post what the vets suspect happen as people are so mean and judgmental, if you are one of those, please feel free to leave this page, it will not be tolerated. We are absolutely gut wrenched, I have no way to describe the loss I feel. We may never know what happened to Peanut but the vets best guess based on her symptoms is antifreeze. We keep none on our farm, we don’t even keep any farm equipment on the farm we live on with the dogs, it is all kept on a different farm. The vet truly believes a vehicle leaking antifreeze was at our house: mailman, delivery driver, garbage truck….and that a small amount was left behind and Peanut licked it up and that it was small enough and she licked it up that we will not find it and none of the other dogs got to it either, they were all out together. Peanut literally was happy and excited to see the dog sitter, happily ate her dinner, was bouncing around, stopped, laid down and never recovered. She did pick up her head and acknowledged my son when he had to leave her overnight and I’ll be forever grateful for that moment, it was the last time she seemed aware. The vet said there are other possibilities but the symptoms fit this the most, just a freak thing. We like a lot of people have more deliveries this time of year and it was probably just that. I am only explaining what they think happened so others can be aware and hopefully save a dog.

Days like these I dread the most. Last night our dog sitter notified us that Peanut was having what appeared to be a seizure. My son took her to emergency where blood tests revealed kidney issues. After a long night waiting by the phone we were told this morning that she was in a comatose state and her kidneys weren’t functioning. After talking with the two vets at emergency as well as our own vet we were heartbroken to learn she had no chance of recovering. We had to make that awful decision to do right by her and let her go. I will pay a proper homage to my Nutter Butter, one she deserves when I find the words, right now
I just can’t. Rip my sweet girl, you are so loved

We are devastated to share the passing of Tobin and Klaus’s son Wilbur. Wilbur was named after my grandfather and brother of Wolfe, Brandy and Gemma. Our profile picture is Wilbur as a pup, that smile always made me smile. He lived with Mike & Tanya with his brother Wolfe for a year training to be a service dog, Wilbur unfortunately didn’t pass. He was adopted by Grant and Amanda and I will be forever grateful to them, they were the best pawrents I could ask for, Wilbur was their baby and they loved him unconditionally as well as his grandpawrents Grant and Vicki. Wilbur suffered from complications of medications given to him after surgery….a rare occurrence. We are heartbroken for Grant and Amanda, we know they did absolutely everything in their power to give him the best life and to keep him here. Grant and Amanda, you are in our hearts, prayers and thoughts. Rest in peace sweet boy, you touched so many hearts!

Hi all, our stud Klaus’s owner Labs by the Lake and Rescue, is part of this organization. I encourage you to follow her, she gets all the pregnant rescues and selflessly commits to then from prenatal care, through birth and to adoption once pups are old enough. For those of you that breed, you know this takes a tremendous amount of time and energy. Please consider this wonderful organization while you are looking at where to donate!

I need to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful followers who have contributed to the EmbraceCLE Challenge in support of Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. This challenge is our largest fundraiser of the year and we are so blessed by your support! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

On average, we spend $10,000 per month on rescue (mostly for medications and veterinary expenses, but also ifood). Our foster families purchase the crates, gates, beds and pens they need to take care of the moms and pups. Those who transport pups each week from several adjoining states pay for their own gas. No one in our organization is paid - so EVERY CENT you donate goes to the care of the dogs.

We have currently raised $14,099 which is just under half of the $29,000 we raised last year to win the competition. The first place prize, for the non-profit who raises the most in October, is $15,000. We are trying hard to win that prize again.

We have 9 days left - contest ends at midnight on October 31. If you have not yet contributed, please consider donating. Even $1 helps. The donations must go through the Givebutter platform to count. You can donate by credit card, Venmo, or Paypal. Checks are an option only through this week.

There is a default tip added to each donation to Givebutter, but you can set to zero by selecting "other".

Please help us win so we can say "yes" to more rescue requests. it breaks our hearts to have to turn down moms and pups in need. And we would be so grateful if you could share this post with your friends!

When we looked for our first female we knew we needed a real boom boom girl to stand up to our boy….entered Ms Abigirl USA Wambach. Abby is pure love and pure sass, full of personality, she is always with if not on top of someone, she’s the one that comforts us, the one that talks back, the one the others go to for support…mama bear, the one that loves water and idea of fetching is making you chase her to get the ball, the puppy socializer, the one with the best stink eye, the one that loves all and loves completely…. The one that made such a difference in the lives of people that suffered from PTSD, anxiety and depression that she inspired us to start breeding and help others with our dogs. Happy 11th birthday my sweet, sassy Abby, we love you endlessly!

Fifa Labs

After having a beloved pet from show lines diagnosed with hip and elbow dysplaxia, we did further research and discovered the decreased life and health of labs from unhealth tested breeding. We decided we wanted to contribute to the prevention of families and pets having to go through medical issues by breeding healthy labs. We breed health tested, high quality, well tempered English Labs to preserve the wonderful qualities of the breed and improve their life spans. We were also fortunate enough to discover that we can do this and pay it forward to our Veterans in need by donating puppies to K9 for Warriors to be trained as service dogs for our Veterans suffering from PTSD.
