It’s a good first step to be conscious of correcting hands that are bouncy, pulling, or generally busy when working towards creating the soft, elastic contact that we (and our horses) crave! 🐴

After all the rain we've had recently, we can look forward to warmer weather. Here are a 5 ways to make sure your horse(s) remains comfortable:
🐴Make sure there's enough fresh water available.
🐴Only ride during the cooler times of the day.
🐴Provide a suitable summer rug if necessary.
🐴Hang a salt block in the stable or paddock.
🐴Look out for signs of heatstroke.

💙LISTEN TO YOUR HORSE💙
The best trainers are the ones who actually listen to what their horse has to say. Horses are in constant communication with us, we just need to know what to look out for. Does your horse roll it's eyes or pin it's ears back? Have you used too much pressure? Does your horse swish it's tail constantly during handling or exercise? Does your horse push you with the shoulder or walk into your space, with total disregard for you or your boundaries? Maybe you're going too fast or too slow… He/she also shows you what is going well and what he/she likes, but are you actually noticing it? Practice watching your horse carefully during training and you will soon see how communication is key!
