At that time it was called the Natal Alsatian Club. In 1978 this was changed, in line with the international recognition of the correct name of the German Shepherd Dog, to the Natal German Shepherd Dog Club. Our beginning was just a handful of dedicated enthusiasts with the aims of educating the public towards the correct type of GSD and assisting in the training of dogs. Over the years we have kept these ideals and held many shows for both breed and working classes.
Come and join us to support the Umbilo SAPS and the Umbilo CPF at their 2024 Crime Awareness Day taking place this Saturday 15th June 2024 at Port Natal School 14 Dirk Uys Street, Umbilo. Natal German Shepherd Dog Club Demo Team will be there to show our support and will be doing a demo. Come and say hello and enjoy the event. You will also get to meet the various roleplayers who help to keep your community safe. 💪👌👏🐾
In preparation for the Canine Good Citizen Bronze Level taking place tomorrow at Natal German Shepherd Dog Club - Glenmore Primary School, we needed a bicycle for Bronze Level Test 11 - Reaction to Distraction: to demonstrate that the dog is confident at all times when facing a distraction.
Thank you to Greg Albert of Cyclesphere Cycling in Gordon Road, Morningside for your assistance in getting our bicycle ready for the show.

We had a fun and braai day on Saturday to end the year on a light hearted note. Thank you to all who joined us. It was an awesome day filled with laughter, friends and of course, our beloved dogs. The Natal German Shepherd Dog Club held their phenomally well supported Non Championship Show on Sunday 20 November 2022. Events included Elementary Beginners, Beginners, Novice, A, B, C and Rally Obedience Masters, Excellent, Advanced, Novice and Fun.
