Running, jumping, stretching and catching come as naturally to dogs as breathing. Not only is this form of exercise important for your dog’s muscular development, it will also ensure your dog ages gracefully and happily. Agility is a wonderful way to connect and bond with your dog and here’s the best part: basically, anyone can join in the fun! Most breeds, sizes and ages of dogs are welcome to join, although it is important that your dog has the right temperament, physical ability and body structure for agility training. All dogs can generally start agility training from as young as 12 weeks, although it will be preferable for them to have done a basic obedience training course first (puppies can start as soon as they have had their second inoculation). Older dogs are also welcome to join in, as it is possible to teach an old dog some new tricks! As for handlers, whether you are 8 or 68 makes no difference! Anyone with a dog can do agility training. There is no age limit for people or dogs, and everyone is encouraged to join in the fun!
