This Saturday saw the Sidewalk Team alongside Vet Point and our hero guest vets sterilise 167 dogs and cats in the impoverished township of De Doorns!

Alongside sterilisation they received inoculation, deworming, antibiotics, tick and flea medication, a bag of nutritious Hill's Pet food and a warm Jojo kennel! 🤗

♥️♥️♥️ happy beginnings for our rescue babies. Update photos!

Karen Oosterbaan and I created Claws and Paws Rescue at the beginning of lockdown in March. Since then we've been able to supply 100s of kg of dog and cat food to needy animals in Hangberg and IY. Almost all of the food donated came via Animal Lifeline and their generous donors (trolleys in various supermarkets, etc.)
Huge thanks to everyone who assisted - especially Carynne for co-ordinating the initiative! Thank you Sia from Sia’s Rescues for everything you do for the Hout Bay animals and continue to do. And of course thank you Alan for helping with the food collections, deliveries and packing of the food!

Besides distributing food, kennels, assisting with administering meds, arranging vet visits and sterries, we have managed to get at least 10 puppies as well as some older doggies adopted!

Thank you to those who have been supporting purchasing masks to help raise vet bills. We’ve sold 56 masks in the last 2 weeks, which R10 from each mask goes towards our vet bills 😇 so we raised R560.

A very big thank you to Marjorie from The Collective - Hout Bay at LaCuccina, Hout Bay for donating their mask profits towards our vet bills. 💞 The Collective is a great place to buy handmade and local gifts and home decor, check it out and . Their stuff is beautiful! 🌻

So in total, R800 was deposited yesterday into our vet account! ✅

I will do another tally and deposit on Monday when I visit the other stores.

So far.. we’ve raised R1550 from masks in total. 🙏🏼🌸 wow!

Our little Zeke had his eye removed today. Thank you and for getting him strong and doing the opp. ♥️🙏🏼 Unfortunately his eye couldn’t be saved, it was too damaged, but the good thing is.. he is getting stronger and is out of pain. Zeke will adjust very well to having one eye, since he is young😊♥️ thank you for those who donated towards his bill. An adoption post will be made when he’s strong enough. We are proud of you Zeke! 🐶

One year ago i rescued mama and baby goat off a highway in freezing temps with the help of saps. They are living an incredible life on Grayton animal farm sanctuary. 😇 baby Kleopatra was so weak and sick when we found them, and she loved wearing one of my designs to keep her skinny body warm!

Happy Beginnings and Happy Tears

LUNA (now known as Lexi) has been adopted into the most loving family. 💕 and guess what!.... she has a sibling coming her way in 2 weeks! The family have also adopted Jett, one of our nursing puppies (he will be known as Cooper). 🐶

Thank you to Maxine Lindley for rescuing her, and to Carrie Grochos for fostering Lexi for the last 3 weeks. ♥️ this was a difficult goodbye - but thank you for healing her heart 🐶

Another big thank you to the Justus family for helping Lexi score this incredible home. We really appreciate all that you do, I cannot thank you enough. ♥️

LUNA🌚
Our little girl is still up for adoption! She is a mixed breed, and around 11 weeks old now. She is house trained and hear this.. she is also crate trained, by choice! ✅

Luna loves her crate. 😁 As it acts as a ‘safe den’ for her. So we really encourage whoever adopted her to continue with the crate training as she really loves it. 😊🙏🏼

Luna is a little lady, very well behaved and gentle natured. She is full of personality and so cute.

Cuteness Alert! Sound on 🐶

Our little cross breed pups are just over 4 weeks old! They are discovering their voices, especially little Lulu. 🐶

Life is getting exciting for them now that they can walk. 🐾 Mama aka Scarlett is so gentle and proud, watching over her babies.

3 of the 9 puppies are in the process of being adopted, so we have 6 more up for grabs! 😊
