Existing reference ranges for measuring the canine kidney are broad, and therefore cannot be used to quantify chronic or acute renal disease. In January’s journal club, IMV vet Amy examines a very recent paper which demonstrates that the renal cortical thickness, when indexed to the aorta, changes with the type of renal disease, and that cutoff values of this ratio can be used as a diagnostic aid in renal injury. With easily repeatable measurements and real first opinion relevance, this journal club will up your game with renal disease. Tune in to learn more!

After five years of successful business in Southern Africa, we have decided to make the next exciting steps to ensure our continued growth and focus on providing you with the highest levels of ongoing service.

We have achieved a lot within this period, establishing a respected veterinary imaging business and have trained many of you through our exceptionally well supported clinical education platforms.

As we open the next chapter, we have made the decision to support our future growth through the appointment of two distributors to continue our growth.

Our range of ultrasound, X-ray, CT, endoscopes and education platforms continue to be amongst the widest choice in the global veterinary World.

Our customers in Southern Africa will continue to be looked after through our distribution partners Sonorite ( Michelle Broughton ) – production animals and equine clients and DISA Medical (Tim Perks and Nicole Shange) – companion animals and wildlife clients.

You will continue to see the IMV brand and have access to our clinical education and we will shortly be launching a new online training academy to further enhance our education offerings. Kirstin Dinham will independently partner with our distributors in the provision of IMV ultrasound education locally, along with other ultrasound-related services.
