Proud Pup

Proud Pup After our puppy had an ordeal with the cone of shame, we found a better solution. A protective inflatable collar that allows sight, eating and drinking.

Isn't Guismo a little cutie! So much happier with his Proud Pup inflatable collar! He was really battling with the cone.

We don’t always know. He is often flying. Sometimes he is on the ground with a Buffalo. Or giraffe.

He is often driving great distances to get to his patients. The good news is he always comes back.

Sometimes he pops in at the practice before his journey at 4am, sometimes on his way home at midnight he stops to check on patients, review cases and ensure that the practice is as it should be.

On days like today you will find him in surgery at Craig View. There are some cruciate ligament repairs, mass removals and a dental. And maybe even a fracture repair too.

No matter where he is he always knows what’s going on at his dream hospital that took years of hard work to build and he is always available to assist his team.

Dr Kelly, Dr Sam, Dr Iaan, Dr Leané and now finally Dr Ross are all here to assist and always have Dr Bull’s guidance should they need.

Whilst we don’t always have specific days of when he is available during week, he is most certainly around and we ensure he is here on weekends at least once a month to see all his dog, cat, bird, exotic and even wildlife friends both new and old new.

We don't share this so that you will adopt a guard dog, we share this so that you will adopt a family member! Our two gentle Rotties are our family members and wouldn't harm a fly.

Thursday night, I was sitting in my garage smoking a cigarette. Horrible habit, I know. 4 young men rushed me, decided they wanted my car, beat me up, and wanted my keys. I told them the keys were in the house. They decided to go in. What they weren’t expecting were my 2 80lb Pit Bulls. They are sweethearts and the kindest dogs you’ll ever know, but protect their home and owner with finesse. My beautiful babies charged these as****es and stood over me as I laid on the floor of my garage, forever protecting me. They are rescues. Unwanted dogs. They saved my life. Please consider adopting a rescue. They might save your life too.

I had to re post this 🙏

Bella - Our Rescue Rottie

When we adopted little Bella from Friends of Rottweiler Rescue SA, she had been with them for about a month recovering from neglect, malnourishment and abuse. Her and her siblings were confiscated from a backyard by the SPCA after an alert neighbour noticed the poor, little puppies.

Part of the adoption process was to have her spayed, which we duly did. The vet supplied a “cone of shame” for her to wear, to assist with the recovery process. She was unable to wear this at all, primarily due to her rough start in life. Having her vision limited, sounds amplified, movement frustrated all completely freaked her out.

We investigated a superior solution internationally and found the inflatable recovery collar which resulted in Proud Pup!

Our mission is to ease the recovery process for dogs and cats, particularly for abdominal procedures. We love seeing proud pets wearing our collar!
