SO THIS HAPPENED AGAIN π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬π€¬
Firstly we want to thank Dr Deon for the donation of camera's to the shelter.
We also want to thank CPI for their quick response when the staff saw this on the cameras and contacted them. They were on-site within minutes.
We would also like to give thanks for the donation of locks for the kennels.
Through all these measures, they were not able to get into the kennels, so no animals were stolen.
Unfortunately, it does sound that they might have had weapons on them, and in the pursuit, they jumped the back wall and got away.
We ask, if anyone recognises any of these people, to please contact us asap. We feel that they are the ones that keep breaking in as they knew exactly where to go. Unfortunately, they did see the cameras, but not before we got some video of them.
We are also asking if anyone can help us to purchase another HikVision 2MP ColorVu Bullet Camera as our 1 camera in the back is giving problems. They are approx. R800 and can be purchased at WatchGuard24.

R.I.P little one
We got a frantic call from a concerned citizen this morning. They went in to clear a house for the new occupants to move in and stumbled across this.
The previous owners just moved (A MONTH AGO). They left their dog at the house for over a month, NO food or water anywhere.
This girl was paralyzed due to suspected malnutrition and had cancerous growths that burst on her front legs. Our Inspectors were in a state of shock when they saw this scene. There was blood everywhere.....
We can not believe this girl was still alive after a month or more!!!!
We decided to have her put to sleep as she was paralyzed from the waist down and her front leg will have had to be amputated. She was in extreme pain.
So sorry that you had to suffer so much before we were able to help. Your pain is now over and you can fly free.

SAVE THE DATE : 21 March 2024
We have our annual Fun Run and this year it is a wild one. It will take place on a farm in Hartbeesfontein through nature and hills and is not for the faint of heart.
1st 100 entrants will be entered into our lucky draw via a balloon which they will take with them on their journey. There will be multiple routes and lengths and the best part? You can bring your dog with if you want. The 3km route will have water bowls for your furry friends and they can also stand a chance to win a prize.

After my earlier post, people has told me to add some of the more sensitive material and show what we have to deal with every day.
This is what we have to deal with daily when the public calls us useless.
We initially responded to this pup as a "Hit by a Vehicle". When we got on site, this poor pup was being eaten alive by maggots and worms. The smell of rotting flesh was coming off this poor baby.
We made the decision to put the pup to sleep as we didn't want the pup to suffer anymore. He also showed early signs of Biliary. He was already weak from the condition he was in, that was why it was initially though he was hit by a car.

Dear Shelter Staff,
I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to provide you with an update on the adorable little kitten I adopted from your shelter just a week ago. She has already brought so much joy and happiness into my life, and I couldn't be more grateful.
I'm delighted to report that Pixel, is thriving in her new home. Despite the short time she's been with me, she has settled in remarkably well and has already become a cherished member of my family. Pixel is a bundle of energy, and her playful and lively nature never fails to brighten up my day.
In terms of her health, I am pleased to say that Pixel is in excellent condition. She is eating well and has a healthy appetite. Her coat is glossy and soft, and her bright eyes are full of curiosity.
Pixel's playful antics are a constant source of amusement. She spends her days enthusiastically chasing after toys, leaping through the air, and exploring every corner of her new surroundings. It's heartwarming to witness her discover new things and find joy in the simplest of activities. I have already created a dedicated play area for her, complete with scratching posts and interactive toys, which she absolutely adores.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to all the staff at the shelter for your tireless efforts in caring for Pixel and ensuring her well-being before she came into my life. Your dedication and love for animals are truly commendable. It's because of your hard work and commitment that Pixel had the chance to find a loving forever home, and I am forever grateful to you all.
Once again, thank you for everything you do to help animals in need. I hope this update brings a smile to your faces and reassures you that Pixel is thriving and experiencing a life filled with love, joy, and endless play. Please convey my heartfelt appreciation to everyone at the shelter, and know that you have made a lasting impact on both Pixel's life and mine.

We would like to thank the wonderful Alde from Maltese French Poodle and Yorky Rescue for taking her in and helped her by fixing her lip, having her sterilised and she has been re-homed by Pekingese Haven.
She looks like a completely different girl.
