A super day of dressage for the Landskroon clients and their horses, Landskroon studs stallion VG Bismarck and Herdeiro of Monte Cavallo 🥳

Suzie Sargent’s One Moment In Time aka Monty did superbly in the first level test 1 & 2, ridden by Clayton Brown. Monty got a 4th in the test 1 and a 3rd 🥉 in the test 2 💪🥳🫶🏼👑

Haidee Marklew’s Sommelier aka Sommy competed in the 4th level with Carsten Peeters, winning the class 🥇👑🙌😻

Kristi Butler & fantastic stallion Herdeiro of Monte Cavalo, ridden by Dominique Tardin, scored a solid score of 70.44% in the adult FEI Inter 1 🥇💪🙌🥳

Landskroon’s Von Ghaku Bismarck stepped into the novice levels and did super for his first attempt! He won the first test with 71.11% and a 4th in the second test with a 68%. He was also ridden by Dominique Tardin 🥇💪👑❤️

This month felt as if it was a year long.. But what an incredible month it was!

May 2024 will be remembered for the building progress, the wins at shows, the lessons learnt at shows, the opportunities taken and new paths made, friendships strengthened over physio sessions at 9pm at night before events, families coming together as one, horses getting healthy and well, riders getting confident and believing in themselves and most importantly- the love of the sport and the horses unchanged

Final day of the Western Cape leage of the DSA Challenge 2024 🙌💃

Rider Dominique Tardin scratched the warm up classes yesterday to prepare for the wedding coming up next week (eeek), so today was the Adult Advanced Dressage Championship and the Adult FEI Prix St George Championship class

The competition was tough today in both grades. A fair amount of entries which is awesome and also talented horse and rider combinations!

Landskroon’s fiery red dragon Shamrocks Destiny’s Dream won 🥇 the DSA Adult Advanced championship class with a respectable 66%. 🐉

The beautiful Sommelier owned by Haidee Marklew and ridden by Carstens Peeters came 3rd 🥉 💃

Monte Cavalo’s stud Herdeiro owned by Kristi Butler and bred by Carlos Rasposo won 🥇 the adult FEI Prix St George with a 68% ❤️

Thank you to SDRC for hosting this event as always brilliantly. The first one without Janeese. She was missed but I know she is proud of the team. Thank you!

The Landskroon team had a very exciting outing on Good Friday and yesterday with the LK clients and horses!

- Gerbera owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud ridden by Clayton Brown competed in the prelim improving their scores from the last show!
- Gyulah aka Gwyn owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud cracked the 65% mark too with Clayton.
- Senator owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud also ridden by Clayton has settled well at shows and did very well for his 3rd show
- One Moment in Time owned by Suzie Seargent came 1st and 2nd in the Adult Novice classes also with Clayton
- Larissa Pelser was in the tickets on both her horses Mythos Dionysus and Hammersly in the junior novice classes with a 1st, 2x 2nds and a 4th. They have their own yard on the West Coast but work closely with the LK family
- Katie Ismail and Alzu Olympus owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud had an exciting return back to the show scene after winning the Western Cape Junior Lower Novice Champs last year with Olly showing much exuberance and excitement. Well done on managing him Katie!
- Von Ghaku Bismarck owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud ridden by Dominique Tardin won both his adult prelim tests with a whopping 77% and 76%
- Rivendell Frodo owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud ridden by Dominique Tardin won his first adult novice test with a 69% and graciously retired the second class which turned into a schooling session. Young horses!
- Goldmark Peroni owned and ridden Genie Van Der Merwe got a second in the one Adult elementary class
- Shamrocks Destiny’s Dream owned by Landskroon Equestrian centre and stud and ridden by Dominique Tardin did her first Advanced test scoring a 70.6%
- Crownlands Queen of Hearts owned by Rebecca Read and ridden by Dominique Tardin came third in her first Medium class. Judging was extremely strict but we are so happy with Queenie. She was relaxed, forward and an absolute pleasure to ride
- Herdeiro of Monte Cavallo owned by Kristi Butler and ridden by Dominique Tardin won his FEI Inter 1 class with a respectable 69%. The little big horse who could

Now to focus on the dressage for a bit, then we will let the crowd enjoy this beautiful stallion again some time soon in the jumping ring (he was a major favourite with the people on the sidelines today ❤️)

February in a photo dump!

With show season kicking off, we are now gearing up for the Janeese Silene Younge horse Show in March, and the Western Cape league DSA challenge in May. There’s also some show jumping here and there 😉😉😉

Landskroon Equestrian Centre currently has horses from Junior Novice, Adult prelim all the way up to FEI inter 1. We also have show jumpers up to the 1.10m. Daily we are training consistently and ensuring our horses are happy and healthy. I am truly in my element. This is all I ever wanted- a yard with high performance sport horses, amazing grooms, clients who are like minded and most importantly happy horses (and chickens/peacocks/cats/dogs/parrots).

Very very grateful and hopeful for the rest of 2024.

There are builders, plasterers, aluminium installations, electricians, painters and riders mingling at Landskroon Equestrian Centre going full steam ahead at the moment… Waiting for the thumbs up on additional facilities that are due to go in now, then I can update everyone on what’s happening. It’s been a whirlwind of a year and it’s only the first week of Feb 🤪🤪🤪
